I absolutely love everything about the gardens. The shops restaurant, I went as a little kid with myggrandparents and the memories cant be beat these days. Kids are to technology involved and this is the place to open up eyes to the beauty of the world around you.

Love the shop with the foods near the road, planned to come visit Rockome on our honeymoon two months ago, but got sidetracked, so we visited this weekend. Sad to see the haunted cave was closed, but other than that, it's really peaceful. it's nice to stop and literally smell the roses, instead of always being on the go, so... More

We loved this place. Read a lot of bad reviews about the place but decided to stop anyway. We enjoyed strolling around here looking at all the stuff. The flowers and rock sculptures were so pretty. We could of stayed most of the day if we read all the info there. The food and stores are great here. We will... More

We traveled to Arcola, IL and stopped at Rockome Gardens, when you think of gardens you think ok it will be garden vegetables, or flowers. Rockome is a lot more than all that, it is showing you how the Amish Community lives and strives together. It is a very leisure walk through the community, they have a blacksmith shoppe, a... More

Finally stopped in as we live pretty close. The price is high and it is not teen friendly. Not much to do. My toddler liked the play area. I do not recommend you to stop if you have kids. There were 3 sad ponies in the animal petting area, but nothing else. The buildings are dilapidated looking, and it cost... More

They should post on their website if they close for slight weather. We drove 2 and 1/2 hours from St. louis this past Saturday to find they were closed. It had rained that morning early apparently because the time after we arrived was dry all day. There were a lot of disappointed tourist that day. We ate at the restaurant... More

The gardens are getting a much needed repair. The property is under new owner who is trying to get it back in order. We were there many years ago and remembered it as a very unique and fun place. It looks like it is headed that way again, but for now is lacking in some areas. A very good Amish... More

I was very disappointed in our trip here. My friend survived her bout with breast cancer and I wanted to do something wonderful for her and take her here for the day. We live 3 hours away and had lots of laughs on the drive there. The entrance we sat in the big Rocking Chair and the barrel horse. Then... More

This used to be a GREAT place to visit, anymore, it just isn't meeting the grade. The cost to enter is HIGH, then everything inside the park costs money. If you are looking for something for the kids to do, it is something and the kids will enjoy, but bring your credit card.

To really enjoy this place I'd recommend researching the history of the rock structures, enjoy the train ride, spend some quiet time in the garden, read the Amish history, and walk the grounds. I'd venture that if you were going for any one thing, you could be disappointed. The gardens are nice, but not the greatest. The Amish Museum is... More
