I scheduled a tour for 30 senior citizens. The grounds were lovely with some spring flowers still blooming, the interior was beautifully restored, the furnishings had so much character, and the tour commentary added history and interest. Everyone seemed to enjoy it, and it is worth the visit. We were blessed with a sunny day and perfect temperatures. Allow an... More

We called to ask about taking a tour of the Beall Mansion, and Jim, the owner, arranged a private tour for my husband and I within the hour. He showed us through the whole house and gave us a lot of interesting information about the history of the building from the time of it's design and construction to the present... More

Whether you've lived in Alton all your life or you're visiting for the first time, a tour at the Beall Mansion is a must. The passion that owners Jim and Sandy have for the mansion becomes apparant as soon as you drive up to the property. The lanscaping is lovely and a perfect fit for the house. Upon entering and... Of the many things to do in Alton, IL this is a must. If you like history, architecture, relics from the past, this mansion has it. This house carries a great story and Jim tells it well. Every room is elegantly decorated and makes you feel like you are experiencing the 1900's first hand. 11-1/2 foot ceilings, marble floors, hand-carved... More

We will be back to stay. The History behind this home was very interesting. If you are not staying overnight at least book a tour. Well worth your time to do so. More

Visiting the Beal Mansion was an amazing experience full of history and wonder. Our tour guide was full of information and very friendly. I recommend visiting the mansion to anyone... More

I own a tour company (Are We There Yet?, LLC) in the St. Louis metro area and the Beall Mansion Tour is a crowd pleaser every time. I pair it with the cute Christmas lights display in Rock Spring Park. Jim Beloit is always enthusiastic and interesting as he shares the fascinating history of one of Alton's most interesting homes.... More

I did not have the pleasure of staying at the Beall Mansion but instead took the tour of the grounds and found the accommodations a lovely mix of antique luxury and modern convenience. With the carved newel posts and 19th century decoration, the fern stands and exquisite furniture you feel as though you've been given a privileged glimpse of another... More
