We recently stayed at Farragut for a base camp while visiting nearby Silverwood. We've camped at a lot of parks and Farragut was similar to other large parks. At time the dumpsters were overflowing with trash, showers backed up, no soap in bathrooms, and really crowded with some noisy neighbors. We stayed in the Whitetail loop which had nice trees... Liked the statue and the information at the brig area. We did not like the museums short yearly open dates.

My family has been going to this campground from over 30 years and it is still one of our most favorite summer destinations. We have stayed in most of the campgrounds within the Farragut State Park with the last two times being in the Gilmore campground. This campground has paved roadways and camping spots, which makes setting up, very smooth... More

Farragut State Park is an expansive recreational area on the southwest end of Lake Pend Orielle. We enjoy camping here on an almost yearly basis. There are several campgrounds within the park to choose from, some with full hookups and some without. There is also a nice swimming area, a large boat ramp, hiking and biking trails, and a fun... The main purpose of our trip was to go to Silverwood Theme Park but we didn't want to stay in the RV park at Silverwood as it is like a parking lot with no trees or privacy. Farragut State park was a short 10 minute drive to Silverwood and has great facilities. We were in Gilmore loop which had level,... More

This is a beautiful park with many miles of hiking rails that we enjoyed immensely. We were in the Gilmore loop but all of the loops were well laid out and each had their own attraction. The restroom building in our loop was amazing, certainly not what I expected for a state park. This place is peaceful and we will... More

Stayed 2 nights camping and exploring the area. The park is well maintained, with nice bathrooms and showers. Spent several hours kayaking and then both evenings on the beach soaking up the sun in mid-September. Saw several baby deer close to our camp site. Great place to go boating or just watch the wild life and relax.

We were visiting some family that recently moved to the area so we decided to go explore for the day. There is a ranger station that you pay your fee at whether you are camping or just going in for the day. There are bathrooms here. At one of our first stops we were walking around for a while and... Great sprawling park with several separate campgrounds. Washroom and playground facilities were clean and well maintained. Camp host was very helpful! A bit of a wasp problem so bring some traps if you're there during the hot season. Beach access from campground usually means a drive.
