As I was vacationing, not on a time constraint, I did not mind all the stops. Met some great and helpful people on the bus. ONE TIP If you are an international senior and want to ride the bus alot, take your passport to the middle street bus station and get a senior card. It is $10. and $5. a... More

Yes TheBus is cheap but as they stop so often it often takes a long time to get a short distance. Often the bus's were very full and over crowded. The ones we caught didn't seem to run to any particular schedule. One we were on pulled over and we were made to get onto another bus as the first... More

The services (8,19,20&42) that i used from waikiki are frequent but maybe not quick depending on destnation. For example caught the 42 to Pearl Harbour & it 90 minutes. You pay $2.50 with 2 free transfers. Can be busy at certain times.

I know a poor rating seems like I would be exaggerating right? Like other reviews on TripAdvisor, my experiences have confirmed that, over a few years time, TheBus has lost sight of providing good customer service and safety for its passengers. I apologize if my grammar is not fully correct, I had to put alot of information down on paper... More

On time and there are some great apps to work out where you want to go to what buses need to be taken. The app I have even indicated where the buses were. buses were clean and always felt safe :) cost effective approx $40 to get to airport from Waikiki $2.50 per person by bus just needed to Add... Honolulu is home to one of the best metro bus systems in the United States that regularly makes the top 10 list. For a small fee you can explore the whole island without the need of a rental car, insurance, or gas. Should you find yourself visiting Oahu on a budget and want to save a few dollars, here are... Inexpensive, colorful means of discovering Honolulu. Buses stop, what seems to be, every 3 minutes, providing cheap travel throughout the island. Even from the airport. Medicare card-holders travel for only $1.00. Others, $2.50. The drivers are polite, happy and informative. Lotsa local flavor.

I have lived on Oahu for most of my life. The Bus and its drivers and scheduling are reliable. Beware the little old ladies that force you to climb over them to obtain a seat. Beware the EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE SEATING..The Bus gets you all over the island it's great...but prepare yourself for fatigue. Even the shortes routes will leave you... More

The drivers I noticed getting more and more aggressive with there customers, specially Waikiki drivers, there poor behavior with tourist , give very poor impression about the aloha state, and when you call there customer service.. Oh well , you will not go any where. Tourism is the revenue maker in Hawaii , yet the state don't pay attention to... More

I've been living in Honolulu for a couple months now, and I ride the bus everyday out of necessity. It is awful. I've used the bus systems in multiple college towns as well as Boston, Chicago, and LA. The Bus is by far the worst. It arrives 15-20 minutes early/late reguoarly, and sometimes it won't show at all (with no... More
