A great way to travel

Affordable and convenient, several routes, short wait times and courteous drivers make this a great way to get around Honolulu area, even as a visitor.

"The Bus" - The mass transit system in Honolulu. all our drivers were so helpful!!! You can get all around the island on these buses. we always had a seat, always A/C, and always exciting. Don't be afraid of using the system, even late at night. we were always safe. the cost was 2.50 each but you got two transfers... More

$2-50 is the total cost of your trip, services most areas of the island, air conditioned, not overly crowded. Drivers helpful in assisting you as a tourist.

For short term visitors the bus was a major disappointment. They were quick to sell tickets but ABC stores could not find route maps or schedule. On being told the drivers could give this info 5 asked could not and could not suggest where they could be obtained. The info is available on phone app but short term visitors will... More

I admit to being a bit leery about riding 'The Bus' only because I was uncertain about boarding and getting off in the right places. Visit the website for detailed maps of routes and stops. http://www.thebus.org/ We studied the schedule ahead of time and learned which route we needed to catch in order to go where we wished. It worked... More

The Bus is a great way to see the Island of Oahu if you are not driving. We did several trips on The Bus and found that they run very close to timetable, they are very reasonably priced, and the drivers go above and beyond the norm.

The bus service is quite frequent and reliable in Honolulu itself and around Waikiki Beach. Was able to get seats and was easy to understand where to get on & off. Once you get out of Honolulu though the service is much less frequent. Was able to get to Diamond Head fairly easily but past that, for instance Hanauma Bay... More

We have used the bus to visit several places around Oahu including Pearl harbour, the Iolani palace, Queen Emma's Summer Palace, the North shore and more. We have had to stand when the bus was full a few times or when I have given my seat up for an old person when people a generation younger haven't got up to... More

I use The Bus constantly every time I'm in Waikiki and save hundreds of dollars per trip instead of using cabs. Don't get me wrong, cabs are nice if you're a group of people but $10 - $15 + tips each trip can be pricey and cars are much more. I take between 3 -5 round trips per day on... More

Best thing about the bus is using the stops for finding other people to share a cab with when its late, full, goes past three times without stopping. One word . Horrific.
