A drive around the north shore on the Kamehameha Highway would not be complete without a stop at the Pipeline. although there are several surfing beaches on the north shore, this is the one that attracts the most visitors. The waves were spectacular and the surfers were having a ball. Not for the beginner, by any means. Take a lunch,... More

I grew up watching the big surf competitions, so a visit to Hawaii would not have been complete without stopping at the Pipeline. Although the best waves are in the winter, we were fortunate to see some big waves & plenty of surfers in April. Just ask any local, and they will give you the surfing forecast for the day.... More

AWEsome beach, AWEsome surf, AWEsome surfers, AWEsome sunshine ... just plain AWEsome. If you're into BIG waves, or watching others (some of the best in the world) in the BIG waves ... this is the place to do it. Having said that ... I'd prefer no one go here because it's too beautiful to be ruined by those who don't... More

Love the pipeliine any time of year. Gets crazy in winter to find parking. Lots of cameras here with massive lenses. Especially in the winter months

This is a must especially if its 10ft+. Great to see, but even growing up surfing this was a whole different animal to ride. Stay on shore unless you're an expert and even then you may want to think again.

Best surf spot on earth period. Stop to look in winter months on a good swell. Don't expect to go for a swim though.

Neat area to see what Hollywood portrays as true surfers. The pipeline is incredible and you could spend hours there. Don't expect to get in the water though. This area is for experience and expert surfers and swimmers.

It's a beach. Remember you can't go swimming of the shores unless you are an awesome swimmer out surfer or boogie boarder. There are no signs to let you know your at pipe. Look for lots of parked cars and trees. It's hidden behind the trees and homes

We visited the North Shore today, December 30th 2012. We almost turned around because the traffic was beyond heavy; bumper to bumper for nearly two hours... Once we finally arrived at Ehukai Beach, aka the Banzai Pipeline, we immediately forgot how dreadful the journey to get there had been and settled in to watch some of the world's best surfers...
