Most visitors to Hawaii stay by Waikiki Beach and the restaurants and shopping area in Honolulu. However, renting a car and driving around the island to the North Shore is quite an experience. Waimea Bay is where most of the surfers find the really big waves. It is so beautiful with its black lava rock that frames the beaches. If... More

Waimea bay was a blast! I usually have a hard time just going to the beach and laying in the sun all day which leaves my girlfriend irritated beacause she loves tanning. Waimea had plenty to keep me occupied and with the help from a local company by the name of hawaii beach time our day was perfect. This company... More

Absolutely best batch of sand in Oahu. Expansive and sugary fine....but it gets hot! And crowded! If you're going on the weekend, get there early. We arrived at 8:45 on a Sunday and got one of the last 2 parking spaces in the main lot. You can park up on the road, but it's quite a ways down to the... More

In the summer Waimea is a great place to swim. Obviously if you visit in the winter, the water is rough and only those familiar shojld enter the water. My review is based on the summertime fun. Parking is very limited so go early. The lack of parking keeps the crowds down. Bring a snorkel as the water is clear... More

this area is beautiful, made famous by jan and dean in a 60,s surfing song, no wonder, very clear water but..... everyone and his brother thinks so too ,so parking is a nightmare, but a little patience, which hawaiian drivers have loads of ,and you can get a parking spot, definately a must see/do on your vacation, highly recommend it......

If you go to Waimea, get there early, or it's heck trying to find a parking spot! We parked across the street and had about a ten min. walk. The lot was already full at 9:30 AM. The views are gorgeous and it's neat watching people cliff jump. However, it was extremely crowded. There were lots of kids running around,... More

Waimea Beach park is located on the North shore of the island of Oahu and takes about an hour and half drive from Waikiki. If you do plan to visit this beautiful beach park for a fun filled day of snorkeling, swimming, or just for a stop over for lunch, make sure to plan this visit during the summer months... More

I had to give this a poor because some of the warning signs about it being a HIGH CRIME AREA and some of the thugs hanging around. We were so nervous we just couldn't relax. We actually encoutered these types of signs where ever we went. If this is a problem in this part of Oahu I think that it... More

Clean, safe, clear water, good snorkeling, pretty, etc. As good a beach as you'll find on ANY of the islands. Get there by 9:00AM or good luck finding parking. In the afternoon, go across the street and take a nice easy hike in the botanical garden.

This beach is so pretty. We went twice and loved it the whold time. The water was so clear, and great snorkelling area. We saw lots of fish, coral and turtles. You can snorkel around the main swimming area, but the best is behind the rock everyone jumps off. You will need to swim out to the rocks to see... More
