Waimea Bay is a legendary surf Mecca, with huge waves in the winter months. On our last visit there the surf was more like a washing machines, but some brave paddle boarders were amazing to watch. Of all of the famous North shore beaches this one is the easiest for parking. It took us a little over an hour from... More

During our island tour we stopped off here for coffees and a stroll by the bay. Treacherous conditions limited the number of surfers but one could see the place would be very busy in more normal winter conditions Very Good

A must-go place if you visit Oahu is the North Shore and one if its chief attractions is Waimea Bay Beach. Even if you don't surf, it's a great place to hang out. You'll need to rent a car if you are staying in Waikiki. I recommend that you download the GyPSy app for Oahu and follow the directions to... More

Beautiful white sandy beach with turquoise waters that is best visited in the summer months if you like to swim, even if it looks calm, do be mindful there are strong currents. There is a lifeguard located here year round During the winter months MotherNature really puts on her show! The surf here is unbelievable and quite a photographic experience.... More

The journey there from alamoana shoping center took about 2hrs 15mins up north of Oahu but it was worth the trip if you are a beach lover, the journey there in the public bus was amazing, at certain points, there's afew amazing views as we were at really high grounds and tunneling through mountains. If only I could stop the... More

Scenic, clean and large parking lot with bathrooms on site. We were there early am, not many people except a few surfers and a couple fisherman. Nice place for walking.

We went in November and there was only one day that the waves allowed us to swim. (This isn't your local pool.) Despite that, there were quite a few people in the water and the lifeguard crew was kept busy and did an awesome job. A lot of people stop by to see the waves and the regulars that are... More

Couldn't swim/didn't want to swim there because during the winter months, the waves are to high and the current/under toes are way to strong. So be careful. I hear its a good boogie boarding beach, but again, do not go out if you are a beginner and there are warnings.

We wanted to go to Maimea bay and sunset to catch the surfing and see the beach as we are from Manly natural sort of thing to do. Took the 55 bus from Ala moana and it was a long long trip of about 2hr 30 min. Best to take a warm jacket as the AC in the bus was... More

This place is one of the prettiest places i have ever been. The road getting here was a bit of a bear though and the parking is horrendous. We ended up circling for quite sometime until something opened up on the street. It was a nice view from where we parked, once we actually parked. There was a secret lil... More
