As everyone has said this is the famous North Shore's "Surf City-USA" made famous by the Beach Boy's, movies and surfers. It is a beautiful beach. The sand is made up of tiny little shells. We were visiting in the summer, when the surf is small. It still was breaking pretty high and there was a pretty strong under toe... more

I went to this beach last year and it is still my favorite beach to go to. I just got back from my trip this year and was disappointed that I didn't get to go here again. Went to waikiki beach instead this recent trip and wished I was at waimea bay beach park! It's cleaner and prettier. There is... more

This beach is really nice. It has a nice scene to the right you can see a church and beautiful palm trees and to the left is a huge 30 foot rock many people jump off of. Definitely cool and atainable to almost anyone willing to try. As with any beach on Hawaii parking takes patientience but is not difficult... more

I agree with the other posters. This truly is a beautiful spot. My family and I just returned from Oahu in mid October and managed to be there when the first storm of the winter season roared somewhere north of the islands. It is DEFINITELY NOT a beach to swim on during the winter months! But we sure had fun... more

A nice beach to visit away from the crowds of Waikiki. This beach is busy but not overwhelming. The water is crystal clear and warm and the waves are calm. There are public restrooms with changing areas and a food cart. The beach is large and lots of sand. There are cliffs that you can jump off but that is... more

excellent beach for kids. the waves are calm during the summer and dont even think about going into it during the winter. the beach is huge, sand is soft and fine grain. there were tons of people there and there was enough space for everyone. be respectful to the locals there. they sometimes camp or hang out at this beach... more

Gorgeous is the only way to describe Waimea Beach. My husband, daughter, and myself went in August, and we can't stop talking about it. The sand was liek golden powder, and the water was as clear as a pool. We have been to Hawaii several times but did not have the opportunity to visit the North Shore, and I am... more

Went swimming here in August 2006. Very nice beach although parking is limited and many people had to park on the road or in lots at other nearby beaches and walk to this beach. Water is excellent and people can disregard the warning signs and dive off of the cliff into the 8-foot deep water. There are rocky outcroppings and... more

What a beautiful location and beach. During the winter months there are some monster waves here so use caution and stay out of the water unless you are an experienced surfer. The rest of the year it's normally a good swimming spot. Every time I drove by this place I could hear in my head the Beach Boy's "Surfin' USA"... more

On August 7, 2002 my brother, my girlfriend, and I travelled to the North Shore and spent some time at Waimea Bay. From the time I was a young boy I had always been fascinated by the ocean and when the movie "Endless Summer" came out I had wanted to visit the site of the monster waves. Even though the... more
