Bellows AFB beach is north part of Waimanalo beach. It open to public on weekend. There is a fresh water stream where children play safely, and beach itself very calm good for relaxing reading book, drawing picture and so on. If you go to there, 45 munites drive from Waikiki, but better to start before noon or you are caught... More

We only spent an hour here enjoying the beautiful view. So beautiful! Great place for honeymooners, family or solo travelers.

We enjoyed walking this beach, taking pictures, and getting our feet wet (well, some of us ended up completely wet!). The beach was not crowded, a lifeguard was on duty, there were showers available for clean-up, and picnic tables for eating a packed lunch.

Loved this beach with the clean white sand, beautiful aqua waters and mountainous backdrop. It was not crowded and we found parking very easily. We came here twice during our busy 10 day vacation for barbecues and swimming. The second time we couldn't swim due to the jellyfish warnings, but that was ok. We still had a great time. So... More

This place is just WOW! I couldn't believe how blue the water was. We did our wedding renewal here and it was just gorgeous, no photoshop necessary. We went there on a windless day so the conditions were great. We got told that you should avoid swimming here if it's windy as the wind can carry swarms of portuguese man... More

Beautiful soft sands and lots of quiet room to bask in the sun and swim in the ocean. This was such a great find that we returned later in the week to spend the afternoon. Although I appreciate the hustle and bustle of the Waikiki area beaches, Waimanalo was the quiet beach that we were looking for. Large parking lot... More

If you like Kailua beach but dont want the crowd this is a great option. Turquoise waters, white sands but not as much crowd. The water does tend to be a little more rough here but it was great. I was warned that this beach may not be safe at night. During the day it seemed perfectly normal and we... More

We were married on this beach on Valentine's Day (Saturday) and there were very few people there. (There was a tropical storm happening right before we were married). We were a little further down the road than the main entrance - the locals call it Sherwood forest - and there was plenty of parking for our noon wedding. The only... More

Nice beach for a BBQ, and small waves for first timers...but with a good offshore breeze - watch out for the bubble-top Portuguese Man-o-war jellyfish. They will float on shore and will be along the sand and int he surf...tentacles can be 6+ feet long and will wrap around you and sting like hell! Antidote can be meat tenderizer powder... More

This is a great place. It was very nice views. Make sure you get there early before all the tourist. This was definitely a place that I loved visiting while in Honolulu.
