Had already been on the Mauna Loa plant tour, so didn't really care so much about this farm, but it was part of a larger tour, so we went with it. The owner was really a great teacher, and we learned so much about how macadamias are grown. They even let the tourist play with some of the equipment to... More

Tuddie Purdy will give you a lesson in macadamia nuts and trees; you will learn things you would never have guessed. It is quite interesting, and he is quite a charismatic host. A trip that you will be glad you made. You'll also enjoy the taste of the various preparations of the macadamia nuts after his presentation. You park on... More

What fun our group had at Purdy's. We learned alot about the nuts and were able to experience cracking them ourselves and had the opportunity to buy the nuts in their natural state. I'm glad we included this!

We visited Purdy's All-Natural Macadamia Nut Farm on December 31st, 2013. We arrived really late, but he was very welcoming and kind that we had a great time. Purdy explained the whole Macadamia nut growing, harvesting and processing cycle. We were able to crack and enjoyed some macadamia nuts and taste naturally roasted macadamia nuts too. We also tasted Macadamia... More

Purdy's is a fantastic throw back to the Old Hawaii -- before the glitz of Waikiki. Here you meet a real man and his family and friends, who make their living off the land. The nuts themselves are fantastic -- you can't buy a mac nut ANYWHERE that is roasted like this, in a real oven with a wide variation... More

We truly enjoyed our visit to this farm. The owner is focused on educating us about the macadamia nut, not on sales. It is down home - don't expect a fancy retail building or a tourist set-up. It is a farm with a welcoming farmer who will teach you all you need to know about this delectable nut!

We had a great time visiting with Mr. Purdy and learning about the history of the farm as well as Molokai. He was very accommodating, speaking with us for so long, he stayed open past his normal closing time. The tour is free, the nuts were yummy, and we bought a few things from the store to send home to... More

Mr. Purdy gave a good, quick lesson on macadamia nuts. Very informative, which was appreciated. He is definitely eccentric, and expects his "students" to follow directions precisely as he gives them. ("stand there. no. not there. there") He has many signs hanging by his sales area indicating he is not much of a fan of people visiting Molokai, and definitely... More

Very educational, and the best part: quick. The owner/guide gets down to the nitty gritty and the products you can buy are great (but pricey). We stumbled on this place literally on our way off the island - and are glad we did. The tour is free, but you will be shelling out cash for products after it is over.
