Just done this trip with a group of 14 family and friends. Fantastic job by the Pacific Whale Foundation. Great snorkelling and plenty of turtles and sea life to see. Makenna bay was a highlight. Great guides and expert staff

Went on a couple of days of Scuba Diving with one on the local dive companies and by leaving early in the morning we didn't have to deal with any rough waters. Smooth sailing with no problems and I can be susceptible to motion sickness.

I can highly recommend doing the SNUBA diving (not scuba but snuba) offered by the Lani Kai out of Lahaina. The boat sailed from Ma'alaea Harbour, at 7am in the morning and as we sailed out into the open sea we came across 3 separate pods of Humpback whales frolicking in the ocean which brought screams of delight and excitement... We used "Pride of Maui" for the snorkel trip. I highly recommend them. On our trip to Hawaii we snorkeled several beaches and the crater. You do have to charter a boat to get to the crater. Cost with "Pride of Maui" was about $80 per person and included lunch and gear. This was the best coral formation we saw... More

The water is calm enough for entire family to snorkel provided you get there in the morning. There are at least 5 different vendors providing such services judging from the number of boats anchored at Molokini Crater by 10am. Good: water is clear and warm enough to swim/snorkel without wetsuit - adult men mostly swam shirtless. Bad: not much fish... More

The experience on Molokini was nice, but it felt like incomplete. We took an express tour, and we were expecting to see much more after seeing so many pictures in the internet and also after checking so many brochures that what we saw was beautiful but not as crowded as expected. Besides, the limited range of exploration was also a... More

Do this dive. Various tours are available offering snorkeling, scuba, or "snuba" - something sort of between the two. Bring along an underwater camera or find out if your tour boat has them available (ours did, and during the trip back to shore they put the images from your camera on a disc for you to take). We saw sea... More

I went on this snorkel trip as an out of shape old dude. No problem! The coral gardens and the fish were absolutely stunning. The water was clear with visibility unlike any water I've ever been in. It was also warm and no wetsuit was needed. The boat crew (Quicksilver) was great and the captain was very informative about what... More

My friends and I joined a scuba diving tour that took us to the outer reefs of the island. Did 2 dives and we had a blast!!! We saw many turtles, sharks (including a 3m long tiger shark from a afar according to the dive master), but the highlight was being under water with a pod of humpback whales...! The... More

We did a tour in February, and it took us first to bay where we saw turtles, (we bought the tour through Boss Frogs) and then it stopped in the Molokini Crater. It was calm and the reef was beautiful with a ton of fish to look at. It was a bit colder-- since it is in the middle of... More
