We booked this trip same day, we went out on the afternoon excursion. There are two trips out, one that departs at 7:30, it includes a continental breakfast, snorkel gear, BBQ lunch, beer, wine and soda. The afternoon excursion leaves at 1:30 and returns at 5 pm. It includes beer, wine and soda as well as an optional BBQ lunch.... More

If you aren't brave enough to go scuba diving (like me), then this is the next best thing. Molokini Crater is a partially submerged crater in the ocean and it provides shelter to all sorts of ocean wildlife. I fed fish by hand while swimming with them, and I saw starfish and angelfish and just a ton of varied ocean... More

It was probably due to excessive visits by tourists snorkeling here, the corals seemed to be very limited. They were lacking in volume, variety, and color. Because of that, there seemed to be a lack of fish population and variety as well. I had to snorkel closer to the crater wall to find more corals and fish, but even that... More

The best tour we did in Maui. Lot of sea life. Look for tour companies that pick you in the hotel as most of them you must arrive to the port.

The water is clear, and even though you only get your boat's designated "piece of the pie" there is so much to see in any given area, that I didn't feel like I was missing out. Most tours give you one or two hours. Definitely the clearest water I have ever seen/ snorkeled in. One hour was enough to feel... More

Shoulder to shoulder snorkeling no matter when you get there and far inferior to many other snorkel or dive trips I have taken. Even Key Largo in nearby Florida MUCH better. Also, winds and rough seas keep boats away many days due to where the crater is located and alternative dive sites when you can't get out there (which is... More

We did a guided boat tour to the site which included snorkeling and lunch. It's an excellent day trip for family and friends to enjoy. The water is a bit chilly in the winter however so if your tour offers you or you have a wetsuit, I would bring it along.

Find a company to take you snorkeling at Molokini. It's beyond imagination and perfect for all levels of snorkel experience.

I've snorkeled in Mexican waters so that is all I have to compare this to. There were maybe 3 different fishes to see but that's about it. I just can't recommend anyone spending the money to snorkel here as I believe other beaches in Maui were just as nice to snorkel.

Trade Winds II, was a great morning snorkeling trip, with tons of tropical fish and amazing visibility. Pick the right company or it could be less pleasurable.
