Some of the best snorkelling I've yet to do. A very well protected reef - we saw many species of fish, a few turtles and some friendly reef sharks. The coral is very vibrant, so make sure you bring your under water camera! Of course you're asked to not touch the wild life!! Definitely worth waking up early and booking... More

This is a really phenomenal experience. You're in an old dormant volcano. Snorkeling. With tropical species. The water is crystal clear and the visibility is crazy - something like 150 feet. So why only 4 stars? It's super touristy and it doesn't have a lot of species. It took me forever to find a Humuhumunukunukuapua'a! If you're lucky, you may... More

Great half day snorkeling adventure. The Molokini Crater is a beautiful place to snorkel. You will see many types of tropical fish. You will also go to a great location to see many sea turtles. The crew on the Pride of Maui were awesome. Special thanks to Patt, Jason, Rob and Takako. It is best to book in the morning.... More

Beautiful snorkeling.....you can tell by all of the different companies offering daily tours just how popular it is. The crater isn't that large, so just pick whichever tour group you like (based on price, based on quality of snorkeling equipment, based on the crew, whatever you like!), they are all giving you access to the same spot. Well worth the... More

Molokini in Maui is the most stunning and beautiful snorkeling waters. There are many tours that offer affordable snorkeling in this crater. The water is beautiful but a little cold. The wildlife is abundant and because they are used to seeing swimmers, they will come up really close - making the best photo opportunities.

Book a morning visit, much less crowded. Best for experienced snorkel or divers. Have some sort of under water digital camera with you, or rent.

Water was not to rough and pretty clear. Plenty of fish to see. Careful not to swim too close to the crater and the current can sometimes pull you in that direction. Take an early tour so that the water is not too crowded

It was a lot of fun but the water was rough that morning and a lot of people were sick. Snorkelling was average the day we went. There were a lot of other boats. Only go for half a day tour...don't get sucked into a full day tour. 4 people were sick because it was too rough.

I never made it to the crater for a snorkel cos on the first attempt one engine did halfway there, on the second attempt the wind was too strong. So my suggestion is, schedule it as soon as you get on Maui so you have a couple of days to play around with. In any case, my kids enjoyed the... More
