I never made it to the crater for a snorkel cos on the first attempt one engine did halfway there, on the second attempt the wind was too strong. So my suggestion is, schedule it as soon as you get on Maui so you have a couple of days to play around with. In any case, my kids enjoyed the... More

Went on a snorkeling trip to Molokini crater with my wife and son. We had a blast. On the way we saw a lot of whales (apparently Feb-Mar are the best times for whale watching). I was expecting a lot more fish, but there was a great variety to see so not disappointed with the trip.

Been to the crater and surrounding sights multiple times but today we had an awesome adventure on Seafire Charter from Kihei boat ramp. Experienced whales on the way out and back, great snorkeling in the crater and the surrounding reef, and finished with a great swim with turtles. The Seafire crew was very knowledgeable and safe and I will say... More

We reserved tickets for snorkeling on Molokini. It's a crescent moon crater, reef, out in the ocean. We snorkeled & there was aquatic sea life everywhere! Huge fish, bright, colorful fish in crystal clear waters! It was an experience of a lifetime!

I did my dive at Molokini Crater with Lahaina divers, The site is amazing! a Partially submerged tip of a volcano forms a crescent shaped island surrounding an underwater plateau which is alive with all varieties of sea life. Just being able to say that I dove into the mouth of an inactive underwater volcano is too cool. My visit... More

Booked a tour to Molokini Crater from the Pride of America and arrived at the wharf in howling gales and showers. It was looking most uninviting but we boarded the twin hulled launch and headed the 10km or so off Maui. Unbelievably the weather was perfect, the water deep blue and crystal clear at the Molokini Crater. Saw thousands of... More

Molokini was an awesome place to snorkel. The water was crystal clear, the fish were abundant and the view of the crater was spectacular. It is amazing to be in the water about 10 feet from shore, then look up and see the massive crater around you. Hint #1 – Make sure the tour you take also goes to Turtle... More

Be prepared for a massive amount of tourists from several snorkeling charters. No one watches where they are swimming either, make sure you take some type of PFD along with you for safety precautions.(I don't snorkel with a PFD typically, but I was not about to drown from a kick to the head) There are tons of fish to see... Molokini crater was one of my favourite excursions while visiting Maui. The visibility was 150-200 feet below which allowed us to see all the beautiful coral reef and countless tropical fish. Considering this was my first ever snorkeling experience, I have a feeling nothing else will quite compare! Highly recommended :) I can't wait to go back again.

We went with Seafire after reading all their wonderful reviews. We were.not disappointed. Amazing. Kind, caring and genuine staff. We saw whales, countless turtles, a few harmless resting sharks and other amazing marine life. I could not give a higher recommendation.
