I've snorkeled in Mexican waters so that is all I have to compare this to. There were maybe 3 different fishes to see but that's about it. I just can't recommend anyone spending the money to snorkel here as I believe other beaches in Maui were just as nice to snorkel.

Trade Winds II, was a great morning snorkeling trip, with tons of tropical fish and amazing visibility. Pick the right company or it could be less pleasurable.

Definitely worth seeing, but know there will be a million people there too. Snorkeling was shoulder to shoulder & our boat even arrived AFTER most of the boats had been there. You can see SO much sea life there ! It was beautiful / The backside was very cool and VERY deep but you could still see everything ! It... More

We visited earlier this month. We paid extra to Snuba at the site. My wife and youngest son had not scuba dived before so it was a nice extension to their snorkeling experience. The visibility was incredible - the best I have ever experienced. However the coral and fish viewing was average and did not meet our expectations. All up... More

Molokini has a well-deserved reputation for its water clarity (visibility) and abundant sea life. Depending on where the boat launches from, it can take 30-60 minutes to reach - we left via Maalea Bay and the 9 nautical miles took a very pleasant hour. The water in the crater is such an unbelievable blue - seriously, like toilet cleaner blue... More

Many firsts at in the Molokini Crater! First time snorkeling. Was an awesome experience until I gasped after my first time seeing a shark that swam right past my face. Forgot I was underwater when I went to scream. Amazing experience to say the least. Underwater tour was great. The drop offs underwater are massive and definitely something to see.... More

We took Kai Kanani to Molokini Crater. We were grateful a calm and clear day. The ride to the Crater was only about 30 minutes and when we arrived it was packed. Our captain took a little ride around and when we did get there, many of the boats had moved on. The visibility was the best I've ever experienced.... More

My daughter and I booked a morning snorkeling cruise to the Molokini crater and turtle town through the Pacific Whale Foundation. The price was comparable to other outfits and the profits go to a worthwhile cause so that's a good thing. Check in was at 6:15 am so be prepared for an early start to the day. We boarded the...
