We started our journey from Kaanapali and it took us nearly 3 hours to reach Hana beach. The drive was interesting for about an hour when you pass numerous waterfalls, scenic lookouts but then after a while roads get trecherous, one way and speed limits decrease. Thats when you start realising is it even worth going all the way..Here is... More

So many beautiful sights and if you drove the driver would miss out on so much. Plus the roads can be very treacherous More

We got hooked up by Maui Dave and his discount website @ http://mauifunthings.webs.com/ and we took a guided van tour, it was so neat all the different beautiful things along the way im so glad we had a guide ti drive and show us all the hidden stuff we would have missed if we tried to take the trip alone... We did the Road to Hana through a private Chauffeured Service listed under hawaiilimo.com. It was a little pricey ($300 each person w/out tip) but it was a birthday gift so who cares. We were picked up at our door at 7 or 8am, I can't quite remember, in a brand new luxury SUV. When you open your door there... More

We only went to mile marker 11, leaving our condo around 1pm and getting back about 7pm. We hiked a trail (can't remember the name) to a dammed up dry, huge, scary, water fall and a very creepy looking hidden lake and dam, where we got lost. It was maybe 2 miles in more or less. Next, we pulled over... More

On a recent trip to Maui my wife and I decided to travel the Hana hwy against the advice of a friend. It was stunning and beautiful. The track is dotted with numerous waterfalls and tropical trees and plants as well as tons of overlooks of the ocean and valleys. I kinda thought we could knock it out in half... More

Thank God I wasn't driving because it's a long trip with many things to see, the roads are though so the driver cant be looking around while driving. We rented a jeep and took the top off and we got the best pictures ever. Plan your trip and where you are going to stop and wake up super early so... More

The Road to Hana is a very exhausting and grueling all day trip! We left at 8 and did not arrive back at our Kaanapali Beach Hotel until after 5 pm. We stopped total of maybe 2hrs since the locals all said you need to get back while still daylight! Some of the sights very beautiful but still not worth... More

The Hana Hwy is one exciting trip! I'm glad I did it, but once was enough. It is just one long winding, twisting road with beautiful views. My friends picked me up at the airport and we spent the next 10 hours meandering our way down the Hana Hwy. We also went all the way around, instead of back tracking.... More
