It is a long day as mentioned in other reviews. My wife and I found that the first day or two you are on the island is the best time to take the excursion. We are from the central time zone. Waking before 4 am was no problem the first few days there. So get an early start on the... More

Road to Hana was better than expected. We didn't stop at too many place on our way to Hana just so we could avoid crowds. We just stopped for some banana bread and coffee and for scenic views where there were no tourists in sight. We stopped at more places on our way back when most people were already gone.... More

Having just visited Maui for the first time, I need a whole lot of room for a review!! My family and I saw and experienced so much, it will be an amazing vacation to remember. But this is just about Hana. :-) We started toward Hana on an early, very sunny morning. Twin Falls Farms/farmstand is a must stop. The... More

even a fast paced oprah would have to slow down on this highway to heaven if she used it to get to her place near hana. take your time get off in several places and have a good camera as this is definitely one of the more scenic roads anywhere.

It is still the Best drive in the World. The road has been improved. Wider at the start from Kahalui. So much to see. Hike the waterfall trails, a bit of exercise is great on a vacation. The Bamboo trail is exciting and intriguing as well. Hasagowas market is a must stop for a fresh clean T shirt and some... More

We have done the Road to Hana 3 times so far and the best way to do this is to book a cottage or room and spend the night. If you plan this far enough in advance, you can make this trip on your 2nd to the last day, and then go to the airport for your flight home the... More

It's been said many times, but DO NOT MISS THIS! For my family of 4, traveling the road to Hana was truly a highlight of our trip. We swam in waterfalls, explored bamboo forests, and saw mongooses among many, many other once in a lifetime experiences. Do pack snacks and drinks, and don't expect a lot from Hana itself. Like... I need to preface this review by saying we were two couples ranging in age from 61-65. We were in a rental 4 door jeep wrangler riding with the top down and what little hair I have left, blowing in the breeze. Doing this in a bus as part of tour would probably stink. We saw the buses, they rarely... More

So if you have heard of Maui, you have likely heard of the Hana Highway. It's an amazingly beautiful road with twists and turns and oohs and ahhs and is definitely something that should be on your bucket list as it was mine. Now that it's checked off though, I don't plan to do it again unless I am driving... More

Wow - what a great way to experience the varied climates, scenic views and local culture. Our favorite part of the entire trip - but glad I wasn't behind the wheel on this 6+ hour circle around the island! Have never seen such tight and repetitive hair pin turns - think we crossed 100+ one lane bridges. But it was... More
