I did a lot of research on doing the road to Hana before going and I was a bit anxious since so many people had such a hard time or didn't think it was worth the time of effort. Well we definitely did think it was worth it, and what made it so worth it for us would have to... More

My wife and I booked this trip on a Tuesday morning. My wife got terribly ill (motion sickness)on a sunset cruise on Wednesday evening. Our road trip to Hana on Valley Isle Excursions was scheduled Thursday a.m. Knowing the nature of the road we were extremely concerned she would continue to feel ill the entire trip so we call Wednesday... Wondering how many marriage have ended because of the road to Hana. We might have gotten more out of this road if we had the cd of where to stop. Part of the road passed Hana was closed for construction.. Had the best coconut, pineapple bread at a little stand on the side of the road, which made the ride... More

After the first hour I didn't see a thing--course that is because I had my head in my lap after I had lost my breakfast. I was sick as a dog--I had never been car sick before and didn't think it would bother me.Our driver was fine, the other two in our group have been car sick several times before... More

We loved our trip to Hana. We stayed the night in Hana instead of doing round trip in one day which we were very grateful for. It is a very long day if you make a lot of stops. Also recommend the Gypsy Guide app. It tracks your progress via GPS and tells you when to turn off for different... More

Advice leave early, get on the road at first light and make sure if only one person is driving they are fully rested and prepared to concentrate! However, if you can share the driving its better cos the driver will too busy watching the road than checking out the views!! Get the road to hana CD or app - We... More

I took the Discover Hawaii Tours Hana Road Eco Adventure tour and I knew we were in for something special when our guide introduced himself. "Aloha, my name is Bjorn". Hmmm? What a marvelous adventure IF you aren't in a big hurry. They aren't kidding about the number of curves and one lane bridges. Who cares! The drive and the... More

We decided to hire a car and take the road to HANA. On arrival in our hotel it seemed to be referenced a lot in brochures so we thought we would take the plunge. It really is worth it. The drive is spectacular and we used the CD that talks you through the journey and the places to stop. We... More

We left at 7am and got home about 8pm. It was worth every minute. We went to the shell station on 380 with a pineapple truck in front of it and got a cd that narrated the road and stops. It also came with a great map and lots of info. We really had a great day. Highlights were swimming... More
