No trip to Maui could be complete without a trip to Hana! Leaving from Lahaina plan on an early departure. You head back towards Kahalui Airport and take the signs to Hana. It will take you a minimum of 4 hours to get there. Naturally, it's 35 miles! The road winding around the mountains take you to a picture stop... More

Beware, even if you just go to the middle and turn around it is a long drive, but very worth it. There is a nature park in the middle of the drive that we did not go to (I remember it being very pricey), but the drives and the views are very beautiful. It is like seeing primitive Hawaii and... This is our first visit to Maui and we wanted to do what everyone does in Maui, so we took the Hana Road. Ocean breezes, lush greenery and beautiful nature. Oh, and lots of winding roads, so if you are the driver, you have to pay attention to the road!! We went to the Haleakala National Park and hiked the... More

This road is absolutely scenic, crowded with waterfalls, gardens and other attractions. You would need at least 12 hours to visit adequately, meaning you would need to leave early in the morning. It is not a good idea to be back at nighttime. The road is dangerous at night. Caregul driving is enough during daytime. We loved the waterfalls, but the... More

Road to Hana is a pleasure with sweet pain. Great scenery mixed with ocean meandering highway is beautiful but the road with twists and turns forces you to stay focused. You will wish you were not the driver. You will enjoy if if you don't rush the drive and plan on stopping as often as needed to watch some scenic... More

Having read that this is one of major attractions on Maui, we were disappointed that the reality did not live up to the hype. It's several hours of driving on winding road, mostly through a rainforest with an occasional disappointing waterfall. We've seen more spectacular scenery in other parts of Hawaii and the continental US. Several of the sights are... More

we were in maui for our honeymoon and won a trip on the tour bus driven by larry offen. we had such a great time on this tour. Larry was so full of information and we learned so much about the island and its history while we were there. Larry was enjoyable and polite and answered all our questions. we... More

You have to leave early to start this Journey. It is great tour by car. We m'aide many stops during it but some are nicer than others like; between the 19-20 mile markers called Waikini Falls. Go under the bridge it is a must you will see three nice falls....nice pictures. Do it buy the book Maui revealed and follow... More

I had one of the most amazing experiences driving the full length of the Hana Highway with my husband. Everything from the endless waterfalls to the blow holes and the black sand was simply breathtaking. Rent a convertible if you can It makes the experience that much better. I loved the contrast between the lush green and the black lava... More

I found it to be over rated. Even with a guide book things were hard to find. Maui doesn't believe in signage and I get that but it does make it difficult for us tourists. The coastal views were really beautiful. We missed quite a few of the waterfalls and weren't willing to turn around and go back because of... More
