Just returned 6/7/09 from Maui and visited the blue pools/Angle falls or at least tried too! After traveling down the road past several posted signs, we were able to get out and trek ALMOST to the blue pools. However, we were met by a grouchy native who wouoln;t let us go any further I'm from the south, and I did... more

We had the 3rd ed of "Maui Revealed" (a book btw that most Hawaiians despise) which said to ignore the signs and simply drive down the road, park, and take a short hike to Blue Pool. The 4th ed. (which we should have purchased) advises tourists to no longer visit ("dangerous"). We went early Nov 2008. There was no one... more

My wife and I had the distinct pleasure of meeting the one and only Hawaiian Santa Claus, the Crown Prince of Welfare. This is the same iddiot referenced in all the earlier reviews, in fact posting himself (tiannamalia). We were respectful just as we've always been, driving slow, etc. Just as we were approaching the pool, the notorious red truck... more

My wife and I ignored the signs saying that you will be prosecuted if you have the audacity to visit Blue Pool (April 08). We drove the back country dirt road about three miles, seeing all of the hostile Keep Out signs along the way. Once we got to the end of the drive and saw that we would have... more

By now no doubt you've read/heard that Blue Pool is the greatest place on Maui or that it will put a damper on your vacation -- in our case both were true. A few years ago my wife and I had the pool to ourselves. We swam, felt the mist of the waves as they crashed against the boulders protecting... more

I had read about the problems with the old man and the supposed restrictions on seeing what has been called the Blue Pool. I had been to Maui years ago and the Blue Pool was an incredible highlight. So I went to the access point, and parked my car a half mile away from where the river is. (This is... more

contrary to what all those unfriendly signs say, blue pool is open. you just have to be quiet about it. park your car at the end, throw a buck or two in the mailbox, and walk down the road. then when you reach the ocean go left over the rocks and around the shore line for a minute or two.... more

It really makes me mad that everyone who goes to the Blue pool is so disrespectfull of the people living on the land next to the pool. Don't disregard the signs! YOU ARE TRESSPASSING!!! The signs everyone is talking about are there for a reason! The beach may be public but the land your walking on to get to the... more

I also took my new wife to the "Blue Pool". We got there just after the local land owner had punched a tourist in the face. We were there on July 14th, so it was about a week after the previous poster had visited. When we were there the police were at the scene...real nice. It was a mess and... more

Visited the Blue Pool on July 7 on the trip to Hana. Too bad I didn't know we would be going to the Pool before the trip because I would have seen the previous posts and not have bothered. My new wife and I had a nightmare experience during our visit to the Blue Pool, thank you Maui Revealed. We... more
