almost every day the dolphins come in to rest. The beach signs say not to swim with them but the dolphins come to swim with the tourists. The snorkeling is very good and then when we swam back to the beach the dolphin pod approached US .. about 15 individuals. Lovely spontaneous experience. We spent the rest of the day... More

We enjoyed our visits to Hulopoe Beach. When the surf was breaking because of the high winds, we didn't venture in, but when the wind died down, the swimming and snorkeling (left side) of beach was good. We saw a variety of fish and live coral. Access with gear is easy. There wasn't any seaweed and although the previous days... More

Stayed at Four Seasons Manele. I love this hotel for the location, perched above this beautiful bay. The spinner dolphins hadn't been back for a couple of weeks. We were told that the generators humming from Larry Ellison's yacht were probably scaring them away. The yacht is an eyesore that he parks right at the opening of this beautiful, pristine... More

Enetred to snorkel from the beach on the left side. Only 10 feet from the beach and you see great stuff in the water. The coral is amazing and just off the shore. Very calm water for winter time. Went 1/21/13. Very nice beach but very busy.

Yes Hulope has great sand, clear water, and calm conditions. I love the place. Trilogy does take up some of the beach on the far left as you face the water. I see them but really do not even hear them except if I walk by on my way to the tidal pool for kids or to enjoy a short... More

We went from Maui to Lanai via and Expeditions catamaran and the trip over itself was beautiful, of course. This beach is an easy place to spend a whole day. It's wide, long and a comfy place to hang out. Bathrooms.Be self contained for the day. You're going to have to drive some place if you need food and supplies,... More

This public beach is gorgeous with nice, clean bathrooms. Camping is allowed on the beach here. Was surprised how rough the waves are. Loved the hike up to Sweetheart Rock.

Beautiful beach but can be a little tough when they have higher shorebreak. Need to be careful getting into the water as I found out If you are a Four Season guest and the dolphins come into the bay the workers will not give out snorkel stuff. Too bad as they told us that too many times guest would promise... More

Yes, I live on Lana'i, so I am slightly biased. But honestly, Hulopo'e is the best beach I've ever been to...and I've been to a lot of beaches from Florida to California, down to Mexico and the Caribbean. None can even come close to Hulopo'e. There's a lot of space to spread out, including many picnic tables (and grills) set... More

Not too croud ed. Picnic tables and fire places. Bring something to raise the coals or a small grill to place the meat closeouts the fire.
