I spent a week in Kauai (not nearly enough time - need at least two), and of all the places/events I went to, this was the one I would have traded for just about anything else. This lu'au has all the marks of "hotel management" - there's pretty much no attempt to disguise the fact that this lu'au is put... more

We attended this luau at the suggestion of our activity booking agent,,, we paid a fortune for premier seating that really did nothing for us except sit us in the front... we had to wait in line, unlike what the agent explained, there was no imu ceremony, crappy service from the gal collecting our money after I called her to... more

My family and friends experience at the Hiva Pacifika Luau was frustrating and dissatisfying. I would never recommend this luau to anyone. After reading the other reviews, I have to say everything they wrote was accurate and I agree 100%. We paid extra for the premeir package, and were given a voucher which stated to check-in at 5:45. We arrived... more

We booked this luau with little other choice. My family was there to attend a wedding and the night we went was the only night that was available and we also needed something in-between the north and south shore of Kauai since people were driving from both directions. Let me preface this review by saying that I had never been... more

It's in the middle of a giant asphalt parking lot! No pit (imu)! Cheesier than usual entertainment. One of the male dancers was an embarassment to Polynesian dancing. Virtually no seating on the lawn for early performance. (We didn't stay to find out what the after-dinner entertainment was like.) We couldn't help but wonder what they were going to do... more

Good family entertainment. Lots of audience participation makes this event fun. Everyone in our party ended up on stage throughout the show. The food was great but nothing special. The open bar has mai tais and mai tais. more

My husband and I decided at the last minute to attend this luau. So we called around and discovered that this was the only luau available on the night in question, at $68 per person. The concierge at our resort then told us that it was in a tent, because the original stage had burned down. Well, forget it! We... more

My family (mom, my sister and sister-in-law) and I just got back from Kauai two weeks ago. We were there for one week (August 2007). We attended this luau because it was the only one that advertised an authentic imu (pig) unearthing. We had heard great reviews about the Sheraton luau (no imu), but my sister-in-law really wanted to see... more

This Luau is now hosted in the parking lot of the host hotel. We arrived expecting an authentic luau but discovered that the main luau location burned down and very little was authentic. They do not have an Imu (in ground BBQ). They are not able to do the fire dance in the tent area so everyone gets up from... more

On our recent honeymoon to Kauai, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the Hiva Pasefika Luau. It is located in this outdoor area that has the thached roof and a stage in the center. The food was very good and the entertainment was great! My husband and me were even pulled on stage to hula with the dancers! more
