It is a walk from the parking lot, but worth it for a snorkeling and swimming area without worrying about currents and waves. Saw lots of fish. Very enjoyable.

Nice place to snorkel. Limited opportunities on north beach approaching winter, but we had a good weather day to be on north shore and took advantage. Parking in main lot is okay, but if you want best snorkeling head east until you get inside the horseshoe reef to east. There's a few places to park closer to good digs if... More

This is a must-do activity if you are anywhere in Kauai. I don't care if you are staying in Waimea, go to tunnels. For both boogie-boarding and snorkeling, this beach is perfect. My wife calls it her new happy place, knocking the beach at the Mauna Lani on the Big Island out of the #1 spot. We have been to... More

My husband and our two sons had a wonderful morning of snorkeling today at Tunnels Beach. The water was incredibly clear and the fish, abundant and diverse! From schools of reef triggerfish, to parrotfish and rays, and many more. Best snorkeling we've had in three years!

The cave-like tunnel is under a rocky hill across the street from the beach. A two minute visit does it.....no more time needed, as there is nothing to explore. The beach is Ok but not great. The current and rip tide is too strong. To swim in most places on this beach. There is a reef to snorkel but you... More

The water is shallow & perfect for my little ones to body surf. Life guard on duty. Lots of beach space. Limited parking. It was the perfect beach after a morning hike.

If you like to walk up and down beaches this is a good option. On one end you'll get views of the napali coast and on the other you'll find good snorkeling and beach.

Be sure to check the tides. If they are low,you can't get over the reef to snorkel. The beach itself is nice and the little pools are super for kids, but have them stay off the reef rocks because they will damage the things living on them. Don't bother the seals either.

Very beautiful place with the cleaniest water I can remember experiencing at a beach in a very long time. The tropical surrounding with the crystal clear waters, makes this my favorite beach on the planet right now.
