Tunnels may be our favorite beach...at least so far. The snorkeling is great, the topography is interesting, and the sand is full of tiny shells, which makes for a fun distraction until you're warm enough to go in again. We haven't seen turtles here yet but a seal came in close to shore to check out the diving gear that... More

Just like the other reviews I would have to say that this is one of the best snorkel spots in the island. There is an outer reef that protects tunnels beach from heavy surf. The inner reef extends about 30-40ft from shore and is teaming with fish. My wife saw an eel. Just to left of tunnels is a honu... More

The BEST place to snorkel on the island -- bar none. We snorkeled all of Poipu areas (rocky with some fish) we went snorkeling in Na Pali as part of the touristy boat ride (best one for us was the Na Pali Experience -- they don't use a cattlemaran ... Uuuum, I mean catamaran), went to Ke'e (great beach but... More

The water here is so unbelievably clear you can see fish without even putting your head under water. The current was a little strong the day I went so snorkeling was more difficult, but there is a wealth of wildlife here, including dozens of tropical fish, sea turtles, and lemon sharks. Definitely a must-see.

This beach is a great place to swim, snorkel, lounge in the sun and spend the day. The parking is crowded so get there early and look out for signs about current and conditions.

This beach is absolutely gorgeous... we walked up and down it until we found a spot we liked and spent a few hours relaxing, swimming and sunbathing... the water colors are truly stunning with a jaw-dropping mountain backdrop... People are extremely friendly and keep their distance, so even though there are a number of people on the beach, it doesn't... More

We went here twice on our week long stay. It is gorgeous!! Clear, turquoise water, lots of bright, colorful fish and very safe. If you park at the main parking area, walk to the beach and go all the way to the right. You'll see lots of coral with paths to get in. Lots of little nooks and crannies to... More

It was raining on the way to Tunnels, but when we got there we switched into swim suits and within 2 minutes the rain stopped so we walked from Tunnels beach up to Ke'e Beach. Perfect walking beach and Ke'e Beach is perfect for swimming for little ones and all but is small. You do want to go early as... More

Visited Tunnels many times. Love this beach. Can swim in certain areas. Great for a long walk and small shell collecting.

There is limited parking for this beach and it fills up fast because it is beautiful. There is a lifeguard on duty but the waves can get pretty rough. There is a fresh fruit stand in the parking lot. The most turquoise water I saw on all of Kauai. Recommended beach for the north shore - drive north west past... More
