Last week we took the Na Pali catamaran tour with Capt. Sundown and Larry. It was the highlight of our week on Kauai. Everything was enjoyable, we saw a baby whale, bottle-nose dolphins, spinner dolphins, and even a sea turtle on our snorkeling stop. Larry gave us lots of history and geologic information about the coastline. He was very low-key... more

The Capt Sundown Napali Coast Catamaran Trip has become a must do everytime we return to Kauai. We make the trip to Kauai at least once a year and going out with Capt Bob and his awesome crew is always a highlight for everyone in our family. We have always seen lots of birds and sealife. Maybe we've been lucky... more

Kalalau Trail, Na Pali Coast: Danger lurked around every corner but we made it to the end of the trail. Slip and slide we named it and we were glad we brought hiking sticks. Drop offs straight to the ocean are what make it challenging and we saw many others on the trail with flip flops and some barefooters. Read... more

What a beautiful place! Hiking along the coast trail was fantastic. It rains often so the trail gets muddy and slippery but the view is breathtaking with huge rainbows, you will love it. We wore hiking boots and layers of clothing to keep us somewhat dry and comfortable. We saw plenty of people with sneakers but they are not really... more

It's a cold day in Madison, Wisconson and Im at work, just fantasizing about our visit to Kauai, Hawaii. I looked up a few of our favorite things about Kauai and saw only a few reviews of the Napali Coast kayak trip and the beautiful North Shore,so i decided to say a few word's. We stayed at a small bed... more

We recently took a Na Pali Coast tour with Makana Charters and really had a fabulous time. The captain and crew were great, and made sure that everyone was able to see all the sights, which included dolphins and sea turtles. They shared a lot of local color and history. The small boat was wonderful, as we went into several... more

Just got back from Kauai where we went out on a boat with Captain Sundown. They used a smaller boat than some of the companies that cruise in monoliths with motors. What they considered "full" was still plenty roomy. The boat was well-maintained and our tour was beautiful. The staff was friendly and it was a family-run operation. It's a... more

We cruised by the Na Pali Coast on our cruise ship in September, and the views are breathtaking. It is amazing to see how the volcanos have created such a beautiful landscape. The cliffs and ridges are awesome. Kauai was by far my favorite island, it is very lush and tropical, and the islanders are the most friendliest there. We... more

Since we own a week of timeshare at The Cliffs Club in Princeville, we have been to Kauai about 6 times now. It's truly paradise! We prefer the north side of the island; it's so scenic and not quite as touristy as the south shore, but also more likely to have a short rain shower. Best time to travel is... more
