It's true. This beach took a very long walk to go see...but it was worth it! There are no signs leading you to the beach, so you just have to follow the trails left from four wheel drive vehicles. As the other review says, this beach is remote. My recommendation is that if you plan on seeing it during your trip to the Big Island is to rent a 4 wheel drive vehicle (we had a soft-top Jeep Wrangler). That way you can drive most of the way back to the beach instead of hiking all the way. The... more

First of all, this place is a *far* walk. It may only be 2-3 miles away, but it seems much further because you have to walk up and down terrain that is not walking friendly. There were some people on ATV's which may make it easier to get to this beach. But the beauty of this beach is it's secludedness.... more
