The Mauna Lani spa has retained all of its elegance...outdoor massages at no extra charge (ASK FOR NISA!); cold lavender scented washclothes for the steam room. Terrific outdoor showers. PAY THE EXTRA $$$s...absolutely head and above the Orchid's spa (B+) or Hilton Spa (C-).

The spa is nice - better than the average day spa, but not as great as you'd expect from a luxury resort spa. The massage itself was great, but the facilities were kind of lacking in amenities - not much of a lounge area, no coed area (we had a couples massage so it would've been nice to be able... More

My friend and I signed up for the Fall Special - a "lava mud" skin treatment in a private lava rock area, then a Lomi-Lomi massage for $175. The facilities are superb, and this is far from the usual hotel spa environment which can sometimes feel too industrial. The grounds are lovely, the facilities are calm and peaceful, and the... I did the lava sauna at the spa. The staff was friendly and I enjoyed relaxing in the steam room before my treatment. The facilities were nice. The lava sauna is basically "self service" -- they prepare an area for you in their "lava sauna," which is an area surrounded by volcanic rock which heats up in the sun. They... More

I really wish I could have rated this spa higher, but I expected more. I chose to come to this spa based off of an article I had read and it was recommended in a book on Hawaii travel. When rating spas, I am rating not just the service/treatment but also the spa environment and total spa experience. I loooove... More

The spa is set a fair distance off the main property of the Mauna Lani, but there is a convenient shuttle to get you back and forth. The services offered were fairly typical spa fare, and the spa environment was fairly unremarkable for being in such a beautiful location. The treatments I chose were done very well and I did... We love booking a spa day while on vacation. While doing some research I landed on this one and thought I would give it a shot. While the massage- Couples 80 minutes outside. Was wonderful there are things that other spas just do better. (and for the same price) Here are my dislikes: massage- they just squirted the oil on... More

My wife and I recently spent two weeks in and around the Waikoloa / Mauna Lani. We decided to take an afternoon off of riding and hiking to pamper ourselves with an 80 minute massage at the Mauna Lani Spa. The treatment took place in one of the outdoor areas and the environment coupled with an outstanding masseuse made the... More

If you are coming to Hawaii definitely choose to have your massage outside. While you will not see the ocean during your massage the sound of the waves and the nature is well worth paying for a massage in Hawaii. I did an 80 minute massage and it was raining and although some of my friends chose the inside i... More
