We took the 2.5 hour Paniolo ride which includes trotting and cantering. (Several other rides are available) After arriving we were told we could outfit ourselves with boots, hats, and dusters for the ride. We were given riding and safety instructions by our guide Mano, and than introduced to and mounted our selected horses. Our guide was informative and amusing.... More

My husband and I signed up to do the picnic lunch ride (3 hours) and ended up being the only people for the ride, so it was great to have our own private ride. The guide was a really nice, funny guy, Mano, and he let us do our own thing. It was more like having a chaperone rather than... More

Our guides Jackie and Corinna were great. Very informative and friendly. Made you aware of the safety aspects of a ride but made you feel comfortable. Horses were very good. Like every ride there has to be one lazy horse but overall they were all great and well treated. Views were spectacular. Some trotting and cantering areas. Did not have... More

This was one of the best things on our tour on Hawaii. Me and my family loved it. Nice people nice and butiful horses. The most funny part was to ride fast and I woud like to have more places there you run fast with your horse. It is a butiful place to ride on also. You shoud realy test... More

Definitely, worth the money, waking up early and the drive to enjoy a scenic horseback riding...Our family (my wife and I and our 13, 11 and 9 year old children), had a spectacular time. Horseback riding at Paniolo Ranch is now one of our regular activity when we visit the Big Island (yearly). The whole family enjoyed the "Paniolo Ride",... More

My family and I have taken quite a few trail rides over the years and we wanted something a little different while visiting Hawaii. Paniolo boasts itself on not being a typical nose to butt trail horse ride. They encourage you to spread out as they work their way across grassy fields of the working cattle ranch. The wranglers were... More

This was my husband's first time on a horse and my second time and we really enjoyed ourselves. The horses are well trained and it was nice being off trail with them during our "City Slicker" ride. We had a long time riding through the valley and it's clear our guide and the owners really care about the horses and... More

My wife and I had the most amazing time during the lunch ride. Our guide Manu (spelling?) was great. He had intimate knowledge about the area and definitely was good a what he did and cared that we enjoyed ourselves. The views and rolling fields were just breathtaking. We were definitely please with the entire experience and especially with the... More

Our guide was on her cell phone way too much, talking about her addiction to instagram. She should not have had it out one single time - no professionalism!! She gave no helpful information or guide-like stories that I thought I was paying for. I wanted to hear about the history of ranching there or natural history or anything! She... More

I took my 9 year old daughter today for the 9:30am ride and we both loved it. Gary, our trail guide, was very friendly and made sure everyone had an enjoyable time. All of the horses in the group were very well behaved and the scenery in the green rolling hills over looking the ocean was just spectacular. We'll be... More
