What a nice and friendly place.

They were welcoming and had samples of anything you wanted to try. They have some of the best candies and we enjoyed the stop here on our tour! Must visit!

Obviously the purpose of free samples of Coffee and Candy is to sell Candy and Coffee but at NO time did my wife and I feel unwelcome or pressured into buying amything, They vary the free samples each day and it is good to sip the coffee to give your taste buds a break with all the sweets but the... My husband & I always make it a point to stop by Big Island Candies before heading back to Kona. I love how they greet you at the door, even opening the door for you. They give you a candy sample upon entering and show you where coffee is. Love the different candies and shapes of them even. There's a... More

Upon arrival - you are greeted by overwhelming aloha! Ladies with trays offering various candy and cookie samples - have mercy! Everything I put into my mouth was magic! You can see the factory where the candies are made and the candy makers in action. This place is pretty much a must-see for anyone that has a sweet tooth!

Upon entering you were greeted by some samples and a sample of coffee. Everyone that i encountered was smiling and friendly. There was also samples throughout the store as well and they had some different things to eat. The crunch is really good. They also have brownies that were pretty tasty when i sampled them. You can also see them... More

Fun to watch candies being made and easy to find so many yummy treats. Samples of many of their best sellers help one decide. Got to see the Hawaiian Macadamia Nut Rocky Road being made and that was one of my purchases--absolutely divine and wished I'd bought more!

This place is for kids who have a sweet tooth and even then I am not sure what is so Hawaiian about it. There is lots of sugar candy and toffee and stuff like that. If you are an adult and an aficionado of good chocolate, or Hawaiian chocolate, you will be disappointed.

This place is great to visit when in Hilo. The cookies are delicious and there are so many samples! I would definitely recommend stopping here and buying some gifts to bring to those who are back home. They also have a very clean bathroom for guests!

Free coffee and candy samples all around the store. There is a viewing window of the factory so you can see the assembly line just like "Lucy at the Chocolate Factory" fun for all and very tasty.

Yes, it's a shop. Sure, you will spend. It's not cheap. I get it. But here's the offer. A welcome coffee. A toilet break. Free samples aplenty. A view of the production line. Clean and service is with a smile. You don't have to buy. Would spending $5 really break the budget or would it repay some Big Island 'Hilo'... More
