We traveled on Pride of America cruise & took a Volcano tour with a stop @ Big Island Candies. WOW!!! Melt in your mouth chocolates & my husband went crazy over the cookies!! When you walk through the front door, you get 2 candy samples & Kona coffee. The items were so delicious, I shopped- & who needs more food... More

We had lunch in town, and stopped here before heading for the other side of the island. We were offered coffee as we walked in, and watched the assembly line of ladies hand-forming the delectable treats. We sampled, and chatted, and bought several boxes to take home for gifts. Highly recommend making this a stop while you're in Hilo.

Whenever I visit Hilo, Big Island Candies is a must-stop place. The many chocolate-dipped cookies here are delicious--and there are always free samples, along with Kona coffee. Visitors can see the production lines and the many staffers dipping the cookies into their chocolate bowls. This is really a great place to visit.

Great place to stop on the way to the Volcano, or when visiting Hilo. We walked in and where immediately handed a few yummy samples and some Kona Coffee. Wandering around the warehouse there are samples of cookies and chocolates everywhere. We tasted a bunch and then bought a bunch, (I think we bought almost everything we sampled). Our favourite... This stop was a SWEET ONE! If you get to Hilo you have to stop in the Big Island candies. The prices may look expensive but all of the candy is worth it. You can find many styles of Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolates and cookies.

Yes, they do have candy. The chocolate covered macadamia nuts, with either dark or milk chocolate, are the best available anywhere. They have a new product with the nuts being double-roasted; a little more expensive but worth it. Big Island is also famous for it's shortbread cookies; available in several flavors, they are crispy and full of buttery flavor. One... More

When we travel our neighbors watch our cats and we watch theirs when they travel so Big Island Candies was the perfect place to stop and get them a gift. There are many varieties of chocolates to choose from and all the confections are made on premises. You can watch the operation from large windows in the store that peer... More

All of the treats here are very delicious and there are even samples of many things to try! Everything is pretty expensive but that's because it is top notch quality so don't go if you don't feel like spending more than $12 for a little box.
