A 'Must Visit'. Walk through the rain-forest, listen to the birds, stop by to see the peculiar fern buds till you reach the small wooden foot-bridge - the entrance to the actual Lava-Tube. Continue on your journey - walking through the damp Lava Tube till you see light at the other end - you have reached the end of the... More

Its amazing being inside of a lava tube, just a few miles from an active Volcano - adds a little adrenalin rush - but you feel safe. Defiantly worth the visit . More

So cool!My mother has difficulty getting around sometimes but she did this no problem. We took many pictures.I was surprised how many people walked through talking to each other without even looking at the wonder around them. The walk down to the tube and back out was beautiful. More

This was a great hike thru the rain forest to the lava tube. The birds were abundant and the ferns were awesome. The walk thru the tube will be wet as it is a wet cave...so expect some drips. We had rain ponchos and I am glad we did. Take your camera as it is a beautiful place in a... More

A lava tube is pathway made by (you guessed it) lava during an eruption. It becomes "extinct" when it crusts over and lava ceases to flow. If you're in to that kinda somewhat "prehistoric" attraction, you will get a kick out of it. Otherwise, it's just a short 20 minute walk into the cave and out of the lush beautiful... More

The Thurston Lava Tube is one-of-a-kind as far as I know. It literally blew my mind to know I was walking through an underground tube formed by a surge of lava. Really wanted to venture off the guided path, but decided it wasn't time for that yet. More

I have been to the tube which is more of a cave twice. If you have mobility issues this is not the venture for you. I am just fat so I could use a few trips to this location for the exercise. The path down to the tube is really nice, several steps and most of the time its wet... More

My wife and I went to the Lava Tube as part of a tour. The easy walking trail down to the tube was as interesting and beautiful as the tube itself - you walk through a "fern forest" of dense ferns and other native trees - very beautiful. The tube itself is a tunnel formed through an old lava flow.... More
