Good place to ride your bike or walk along the Augusta Canal & Savannah River on either side. You can rent a canoe/kayak or a bike right. My wife and I take our bikes up there at least twice a month on a Sat or Sun. Take some water and snacks too, because there are places to stop and enjoy... More

A lovely piece of paradise along the Savannah River at Evans, GA. Great for running, hiking or taking a quiet walk along the banks of the Savannah River. There are kayaks for rent, lots of little areas for BBQ'ing or picnics- under cover and with power. Plemty of parking. Nice little visitor centre and functions area as well.

This is a fantastic place to walk, run and bike. Always safe and dog friendly if on a leash. Beautiful, gravel and dirt path along the river. Plenty of space for bikers to zip by. One of my favorite places to run! The restrooms are always clean, too!

Spent a few hours taking photos, neat that people are starting a lock bridge. Great for photos and biking and a wedding venue.

My wife and I took our dogs out here for a daytime walk. We enjoyed it! The trails are wide and are clear of brush. Bikes are allowed. If interested in kayaking, there are rentals on site. Overall a nice experience.

I love heading to the headgates! This place is great, drop in a kayak, walking or biking along the canal trail. Great fun, check out the visitor center when you stop in...the old headgates operator owned the building. It had a lot of history from the area...and worth checking out.

Well placed at the head of the Augusta Canal with plenty of maps and brochures. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful with respect to what is available in the city. Worth a visit.

I have lived in Augusta all of my life and the canal is one of the most peaceful spots. If you're looking for exercise this is a great place to run/bike/walk/kayak. Great to take a special someone with you and make a date of it.
