As I left August in the early 1990s after med school the Riverwalk had just opened up. It was the GEM of downtown Augusta attracting large crowds that enjoyed the place. Everything was pristine... flash-forward to today... OMG... horrible. rundown and neglected. Is it the poor tax base? MCG/GRU or whatever they call themselves today am sure brings in a... More

We went during a market. The market was not that impressive. However, walk down to the river there was a little stage where a few performers were. This is right on the river. The bricked path made walking very nice and they had a couple of bench swings. Very nice to sit and swing looking over the river. We seen... More

as we walked along, there were amphitheater, songs, the sounds of the river lapping the river bank, wonderful smells of food, and friendly happy people, enjoying the walk.

The Riverwalk is sort of small, but definitely worth the visit. On the walk, you get great views of the river and the gorgeous houses on the other side. It's more of a visual and nature stroll, don't expect a ton of attractions. If you're in Augusta, head down and enjoy a lot of Georgia history. It's free and worth... More

The Riverwalk is a scenic area just steps from downtown. It's a nice backdrop for Augusta and is most enjoying on nights they have some music or perhaps the Saturday Farmers market. I do wish there was more. So much room for opportunity but you can still enjoy it as is.

We expected there to be more attractions and more things to see on the river walk. It was a nice outside walk but not much to see but a few things here and there. Was not too impressed.

Me and my fiance like to take our mini dachshund walking over here sometimes and after we are done we pop in to one of the local restaurants on Broad St. and grab a snack after. The Riverwalk has a human sundial spot that's pretty cool during the daytime. It has plenty of historical information along the way for the... More
