Great place for a nice peaceful walk along the River. It's nice way to end a day and unwind. There are quite a few picnic tables and swings to relax on or have lunch.

Seems to me that this was not too long ago a dirt berm that has been creatively and effectively re-engineered into an enjoyable public space. Hats off to Augusta for the work on this. Keep the momentum going and extend it further along the river. Interpretive placards, benches, and dual level trails are great. Although I didn't measure precisely, I... More

I walked over to the Riverwalk from the Marriott hotel we were staying at during our trip, but there wasn't a soul in site. It's extremely dark and not an advisable walk during the nighttime hours. My son and I ventured out the next morning after checking out of the hotel and hung out admiring it's beauty for about an... More

The Riverwalk, on and below the earthen flood control berm, is OK. However, the berm should have been removed after Clark's Hill Dam was built. The berm hides the river - Augusta would do well by seeing what Chattanooga has done with their river front area. Hiding it behind a wall of dirt is sad indeed.

I remember back in the late 1970's driving my Jeep up and down this levy. Augusta added the ampa this theater & made beautiful walk ways with awesome flowers & trees. Great place to take the family but, better yet always take family visiting that's never been. Brick walk ways with written history at your every turn. There's great bars,... More

Walked along the river. Took pictures, read the history markers. Very nice views. Was great to learn about the flooding that has happened in the past.

During quiet weekdays, the place is good for walking and jogging. You can catch a good view of Savannah River; you may see some ducks and turtles. There are many writings on the walk-through telling the history of Augusta. There are usually more activities on the weekends like art show and mini concerts. Note: the mini store is closed on... It was suggested to us that we talk a walk on the Riverwalk....but to do it during day time hours....not in the evening. We did and it was a wonderful walk. Very pretty. Definitely NOT like the Savannah River Walk. Don't expect that......if you do, you will be disappointed. There were no shops along the walking path. BUT it was... More

We visited the Riverwalk on a Sunday afternoon. There were a small number of people on the Riverwalk. We searched for the liveliness of the Riverwalk but it was a lost cause. The downtown area boarding the Riverwalk seemed to be closed. The Riverwalk did not display the life of a Riverwalk in other cities I have visited. It was... More
