Years ago when the Riverwalk was built, it was a beautiful place to visit and walk. But now? The trees are overgrown, the walkways falling apart, very little maintenance on the shrubs and no flowers to speak of. What could be a jewel for downtown Augusta has become a place people avoid. I would NEVER go downtown at night -... More

This attraction began as part of a project to use the natural, historical, and modern elements along the Savannah River in Downtown Augusta to their full potential. It was quite lovely for several years, but it has become known locally as an area to avoid after dark. In their defense, the local government has begun to try to clean it... More

Very nice abundant bars and restaurants for any tastes. The barbecue and other chain restaurants available down the whole street. Many are just open on Thursday Friday and Saturdays.

Looking for a tranquil stroll? Explore the Riverwalk and take it all in. Typically graced with local runners and dog walkers when it’s not hosting an event, its has great views of the Savannah River. Continue along the path and hidden gems like the Japanese Pocket Garden and Heroes' Overlook will surprise you.

I loved the old brick leading up to the river walk and how they had noted previous flood levels. Really pretty place to walk and see the river. Southern charm!

The Riverwalk path along the river in Augusta, GA is very lovely and overlooks the river. However, much of Augusta's downtown area is very run down. Unfortunately, I did not feel very safe walking on Riverwalk or the rundown streets during the afternoon my cousin. I was happy to be with someone. As we walked away from the river into... More

The River Walk in Augusta is a nice place to go, especially in the spring. Bradford pears are blooming, Azaleas... It is beautiful. Riverwalk is not a long path, but it is a nice place to sit and relax and watch the river roll by. In the summer you can get a shaved ice and have a seat on a... More

The riverwalk used to be a nice diversion for a Sunday afternoon. Now it's dangerous, run down, and just not worth the trip. While there are a few good restaurants nearby that we visit regularly, we steer clear of the Riverwalk.
