Be sure to visit the Riverwalk and see some beautiful homes along the Savannah river. There a placards along the way that give you insights into Augusta -- from Golf (of course) to sports on the river, to how Augusta was founded and why it remains a popular destination today. The walk is paved, pleasant and most enjoyable.

Read about safety issues. Walked the river walk at 3pm on a weekday. There were very few people on the walk it seemed kind of weary. One homeless gent was sleeping on a bench. He got up and followed us for a bit and then broke off. All in all the river scene was pretty and scenic.

The town has done a great job in this design with a high walk and a low walk. Lots of benches and picnic tables and tons of trees. Saturday farmer's market going on along one of the approach streets. A few spots along the lower walk could have benefited from a little leaf/sand blowing.

Nice place to walk on a Fall day,or late Summer afternoon. great for photos of the family and pets. Excellent restaurants close by. Also good for music events or pep rallies for your favorite team. Has water spray for kids on a hot day.

Nice way to spend the day. Enjoyed the scenery and got to see lots of wildlife while still in the city: fish, birds, otters, turtles, etc. Great job enhancing the natural environment, so more people can see and use it!

Great place for a nice peaceful walk along the River. It's nice way to end a day and unwind. There are quite a few picnic tables and swings to relax on or have lunch.

Seems to me that this was not too long ago a dirt berm that has been creatively and effectively re-engineered into an enjoyable public space. Hats off to Augusta for the work on this. Keep the momentum going and extend it further along the river. Interpretive placards, benches, and dual level trails are great. Although I didn't measure precisely, I... More

I walked over to the Riverwalk from the Marriott hotel we were staying at during our trip, but there wasn't a soul in site. It's extremely dark and not an advisable walk during the nighttime hours. My son and I ventured out the next morning after checking out of the hotel and hung out admiring it's beauty for about an... More
