Under no circumstances touch the Pillar...bad things (like death) come to those that do. Only Augusta, Georgia has the Haunted Pillar and despite its humble surroundings every visitor needs to look and take pictures.

It's a pillar. Not even the original. The legend says that if you touch it or try to move it you die. Yeah, it's old, but so is all of Augusta. So many better things to see when visiting.

If you saw TWC story on it and were in the area, fine. Now that the minute has passed and you have your picture find Beanies on the River and have a drink and some food because there is NOTHING in the pillar area.

This Pillar stands in downtown Augusta and as a local, I am a firm believer it is haunted. it is said that if you touch it, it brings bad luck or even death. As a teen in the late 80's, my friend touched it with her car keys we were riding around in that day. About two hours later... the... More

It is just a pillar, a concert pillar standing on a corner. There is nothing special or spectacular about it. I would not recommend going out of my way to see it but if you are at the corner of Broad and 5th Street, you can look for it so you can say, ‘I have seen it’.

although I was born & raised in the area I had never heard of this. I saw a story about it on the Weather Channel about a month before my planned visit to see friends & family. I really enjoyed seeing it in person. Google it & see for yourself!

The haunted pillar is not too spectacular. The story behind it is pretty cool but the pillar itself is not so impressive that one would even need to stop their car to take a look at it. It can easily be fully viewed for all its worth from a car as one is riding past. Google the history of the... More

One could say it was a pillar of the community, if that community happens to be haunted. Seriously it is a pillar at an intersection that my GPS did not want me to go to (claimed it could not find it). Since apparently if you touch the pillar you are supposed to die, this very well could be my last... More
