I saw in the tour books allow a half hour. You couldn't walk around this place in a half hour. I took many photo's and would say you should allow at least two hours to just take a slow stroll and see the beauty it possesses, the land are is huge, it's 100% free and really a super nice place... Wonderful place to visit and relax. Neuter ours walking trails and some very nice gardens. I feel they could have better maps and trail markers throughout the gardens however and the benches, whom most had been given to the gardens in memory of someone, could be taken care of better as some of the wooden benches appeared to have stared... Thank goodness for UGA for their State Botanical Garden of Georgia. My wife and I have been coming here now for 11 years and have seen the changes. This place is beautiful and a place that I would recommend for anyone who loves the outdoors and is looking for a fantastic place to just relax and unwind from the everyday... More

Beautiful surroundings. Take a walk down to the river and enjoy the many sections of this garden. We are a little biased as we held our wedding reception here 25+ years ago.

The Botanical Gardens is a beautiful place to visit and see the plants native to Georgia. There is no fee for admission. There is an interesting gift shop and, I believe, a café. I haven't visited the café because by focus is on the plants. They are gorgeous and well taken care of.

Love the entire property! Gift shop is awesome. Many beautiful areas to sit and meditate. Always space to get away from crowds. Love the expansive trails but not sure they are safe to hike alone anymore as did in the past so I gave avoided those unfortunately. Inconsistent community class activity and advertisement of what classes they might have -... More

I live in Athens so have been here many times, in all seasons. My daughter was married in the chapel which is on the grounds. Although the gardens are best in the spring and fall, there is a wonderful indoor section which is always filled with indoor type plants, tropicals and orchids, etc. and well worth visiting. There is also... More

my daughter had her weddind at the chapel and the reception at the conservatory. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful. The walk between the two facilities is just right and a photographers dream.

This was a great place to go for peace and quiet. My wife and I enjoyed the time of reflection since there were very few others around. The grounds are well maintained and clean. Highly recommend!
