Beautiful and offers peace and quiet.

Beautiful in the spring and fall. Has lots of trails and plants to view. Watch out for the snakes. Several places to sit and reflect. Nice place to get a snack as well.

We arrived right at the start of the growing season when nothing much was out but you could see the potential. Covers a huge area--310 acres . Passionate staff in an excellent visitors centre. Some 20 minutes drive from Athens but well worth the gasoline !

We were staying in Athens on vacation and discovered this delight. It is an extremely fun place because it is well laid out with lots of walking trails. Parking is free. They request a small voluntary donation inside the atrium. Food and bathrooms are available in the atrium building (but I don't think it's open every day).

Disappointed about the no dog rules but there are alternatives for running with your dog. I have always enjoyed walking and running out here. Beautiful in the spring, always smells amazing, and is a great get away if you need a local one. Even though I wish I could bring my dog there, I can understand the liability.

Walking around the Botanical garden is a treat and delight. The grounds are fantastic and change with the seasons. The indoor greenhouse is great. Worth the visit if you are in Athens.

This was a return visit to this wonderful garden after too many years. Great to see the "new" terraced spaces. We didn't have time for a long walk on the trails this time, but we'll be back. A must see when visiting Athens.

I spent most of a spring morning here, enjoying the birdsong and the peaceful ambience. It was too early in the year to see a great deal of foliage and I'm not much of a botanist, but for a stroll in the sunshine and a garden bench to sit on and read, you can't beat this. Have lunch in the... More

Unfortunately the day we picked to visit also brought the rain after 3 days of lovely sunshine. However there was plenty to see inside and we did venture out twice and the area covered is vast. You could visit here numerous times and not see it all. All the plants and trees were healthy and well looked after and it... More

The Visitor’s Center features a nice collection of orchids and many other plants. Also located in the Visitor’s Center is a gift shop and Donderos’ Café. The whole area seems well-maintained and the facilities are clean. The outside gardens feature several miles of trails which are all very nice. Plants and trees are well marked. Visiting the Botanical Garden is... More

A great place to spend a few hours in nature. Beautiful flowers, nature trails, chapel, visitor center and cafe are wonderful.
