I really enjoyed my trip here - acres of beautiful gardens and paths. We started with the Day Chapel which is a picturesque church and event space in the woodw, and moved on to the visitor center with its dispay of tropical plants and beautiful orchids. The extensive gardens all around were great to walk in, and I enjoyed learning about... More

It is quite impressive, large, and quite pretty, really. Expansive, it is being expanded. Down into the woods, along a trail, one can walk to the Middle Oconee River. We stayed for nealy two hours, and covered a lot of ground, saw a lot of nature. More

What more can I say...the botanical gardens are beautiful, and just a short drive from campus. Well worth the 3-5 minute drive. I've attended a wedding reception there and it was very nice as well (although somewhat cozy for the number that were invited). I don't get by the gardens often enough. Some weekends the Athens Community symphony (band) plays... More

A very big area with a lovely drive from the entrance to the parking lot. Many different kinds of gardens and, of course, different flowers in bloom at different times of the year. Nice stone walls, wooden benches, a rotating marble globe fountain, arbors, etc. We were sorry to miss walking some of the trails because of limited time. Definitely... More

Basically a group of outdoor gardens with one pleasant indoor tropical garden in the main building, along with a small restaurant and of course a gift shop. You can stroll through the gardens, take a longer walk through an area featuring Georgia and the Southwest native trees, shrubs and flowers. Or take an actual hike on one of several trails... More
