The gardens were set up with paths so it was very easy to get around, Many native and other species to see. Very well done. A must see if you have any time.

Beautiful gardens, a nice collection of orchids and other tropical plants in the greenhouse, this was a great place to meet friends and spend an afternoon strolling the grounds.

Athens is home ot the Uiniversity of Georgis...the Fighting Bulldogs! The campus is very large and part of it is the StTe Botanical GRdens which is well worth a trip for the aviary and butterfly section. Very good for children too

Its a wonderful collection of local and exotic plants with indoor and outdoor exhibition areas, including a water garden, streams, a wetlands area (which was dry when we visited), and an herb garden. There is also some beautiful art on the grounds. We were driven off by the rain after about a two hour visit. We will return next spring.... More

Very good information - very pleasant staff. Well laid out paths and lots to see. Time of year meant not too many blooms but lots of interesting plants anyway. We also missed the hummingbirds.

Thoroughly enjoyed our slow walk all through the gardens. Much more than what we expected. We had no idea that there was not an entrance fee. The area must be stunning in the spring and fall. We will go back again.

My girlfriend and I went here on a saturday, it was more than we expected. We heard about it on google and thought we would stop by sense we were up in Athens on a non-game weekend and man it was awesome. The gardens were beautiful and they were having an event called the "Insect-avle". It was a family event... More
