The Taylor-Grady House is a Greek Revival house originally built in the 1840's. Now owned by the local government and operated by the Junior League, it is a popular spot for weddings and other celebrations and events. The house is furnished with period pieces and is occasionally opened to the public for tours.

It has that southern charm you expect and has been farily well kept for decades. I have not been there for a couple years. Most of my experience there was for wedding receptions and it was a very nice place to celebrate.

Beautiful house! I went to see the decor and find out the history and architecture of the home. It is a self guided tour. The docent gives visitors a several page write-up on the house and visitors are welcomed to stroll through the house at their leisure. The docent is available for questions. Athens' wonderful museum house/ welcome center is a great place to bring out of town guests or to pick up brochures for a projected trip. My wife and I love visiting historic mansions, and the Taylor-Grady mansion is prominently featured as one of Athens' primo places to tour...well, we unfortunately fully agree with the prior reviews.
