Owner description: Beautiful wilderness park about 20 km outside of Tegucigalpa. The site has many kilometres of hiking trails and is terrific for bird enthusiasts, as it's an easily accessible place to see quetzals, trogons, toucans and more.

if you love hiking, nature, and adventure - this is the place that you Must visit! I don't recommend this place for children because of the terrain. I would go back for sure!!!

Beautiful place to hike. We paid to do so- not sure if that's what is required or not. The bridges were definitely sketchy- not much more than logs across the falls, but it gives you a taste of authentic Honduras, to be honest. It was gorgeous the whole way, and breath taking at the top. You also get to see... More

As I had an unplanned and only brief trip there, do not rely on my review as the truest one :-). And it will be a bit scattered as I am doing quite a lot of trips these days and this one was two weeks ago. The park is very pretty with nice trails, but I was able to take... More

The park features a nice little visitor center, well-marked and signed trails and helpful staff. We only had a few hours to visit but could see that a longer visit would have been warranted. The small lodge looked interesting and comfortable for a short, peaceful stay. While the drive up is long, the sights were very interesting, particularly through the... More

Although the park is only 20 miles or so south of town, there are few signs until you are almost there. There is a steep $15 admission fee per person to walk the one main trail (former mining road) and some side trails. If you are lucky, you can see a quetzal. You won't see any big animals. More likely... More

A bit out of the way (far from downtown) but worth it. Its a huge park with a few different paths. We were scared of getting lost so we booked a guide. He was great! Not only explained a lot about the fauna and flora but he also told us a lot about the history of the park. The path... More

This is not too far from the city and is a really nice hike. So beautiful and a contrast to Tegu. Definitely wear the right shoes and clothes because depending on which trail it can be a workout.

I have been traveling in and out of Honduras over a 40 plus year period and had never heard of La Tigra until I read the reviews on TripAdvisor recently. Last week, while visiting family living in Honduras [some of whom are native Hondurans and who had never been there] we all decided to take a trip up there. We... More

La Tigra national park is located right on the mountains overlooking Tegucigalpa, right next to El Picacho. It is an incredibly gorgeous cloudy rianforest with a variety of trails to suit all fitness levels. My family, including my 6 year old daughter were able to reach the waterfall and then hike up to the old silver mine shafts near San... More
