This is a must see in Tegucigalpa. This place offers peace and a quiet stay and also an impressive sight of the city!!! Don't miss!!! You will find a variety of activities and a small museum to understand the mission of the catholic church in our country. The mirrors room at the entrance is funny! Enjoy El Picacho!!

This destination offers a great view of Honduras on a clear day. There are also guards at the top for security. You have to pay a fee to get into the park and a separate fee to see AL Cristo. I would visit again and enjoyed my quick stay.

If for no other reason, one should make the trip up El Picacho to see the stunning panoramas of Tegucigalpa below. A short hike from the parking lot to the base of the Christ statue is worth the effort. The statue plus the base has an impressive rise of about 100 feet.

We had a lovely birthday trip up the mountain with friends from out of town. A spectacular view of the city is definitely the draw but the Cristo del Picacho park is really well kept, well guarded and a lovely respite. There was a small charge (Lps. 10) but it was well worth it. My guests had never been to... More

I could see this sculpture from my hotel, so I decided to visit it. It is a nice historic place but you have to make arrangements with a Taxi as there is no transportation available at this location. Also the museum store and the zoo was closed when we went, so we practically wasted our money and time to at... More

I am assuming this place name refers to the park located just outside the capital city of Tegucigalpa. If you want a peaceful retreat, this is probably NOT the place to go - on weekends, it is filled with families having picnics. When we were there, it was crowded and noisy - but everyone was having fun. So it all... More

This park was founded in the late 30's- mid 40's (not in 1946, contrary to popular belief). Anywho, the road to get there is a big rocky and there' no concrete parking space, however there's informal security on the grounds. The park itself is a great place, it's fresh with lots of trees and cypress bushes, but the true beauty... More

I visited in May 2014. The views are incredible, including the modern part of the city as well as downtown. You can also see the airport with planes landing and taking off. The statue of Jesus on the hill is also impressive.

Assuming that you have the time and wherewithall to make the trip, it is a trip worth making. I've been here several times in the past ten years -- each time to spend about 1-2 hours -- and aside from the large statue of Christ on the park's grounds, arguably the park is an expanse of humble gardens, a park,...
