A nice spot.

This is a great little ruin area about a 1.5 k away from the main ruins. Set in a nice wooded area with a nice short trail that offers very good early morning birding.

Visited here with a small tour group, so we had a guide. This is a cool site, just up the road from the main ruins at Copan, and well worth a visit. Here you can see how the elites and middle class occupants lived. Most were "good" scribes (those who kept the financial, administrative, religious, historical and astronomical records), or... More

This is a small site about a km away from the main group and is a must see. Everyone goes to the main site but Sepulturas is a residential site with beautiful sculptures. The path to the location is a nice walk and is paved with field stone. There is no additional fee. There are other guides there if you... More

This is an addition to the basic tour of the main ruins. Well worth the time, don't rush. Plan two days to see the areas ruins.

This place is included in your entrance to Copan Ruinas. We took a moto taxi to get here. I must admit that after spending many hours in the actual Copan Ruinas, this place was a let down. However, it is still a great place. There are two paths to choose from, one long path and other short path. We took... More

Smaller and less impressive than the actual Ruins, it gives a good idea of the living spaces of the Mayas as opposed to the ceremonial temples and ball game areas. Worth including in the visit!

This spot is underdeveloped and not really worth the time visiting. All you can see are half-buried structures. There's much work being done out here, but it's not interesting enough for my taste.

Included in the fee for the Ruins, drive about half a mile out of the ruins, I missed the entrance twice since the sign is at the level of the highway floor. You will need about 2 hrs.

This, off the beaten path location, is the perfect place to feel like an explorer. It is set apart from the main ruins and is not as known to tourists. That said, it is absolutely worth it. You get to walk through trails through the jungle and near the Copan river in order to come across several groups of residential... More

Not far from the main ruinas in Copan, the Sepulturas are worth your time to get a better understanding of the ruinas layout and uses of the different areas and design.
