This is a MUST stop location. It was amazing. There are also MANY more historical sites in the area other than the main campus. There are a couple of free locations near the Hacienda San Lucas and the CLARION Hotel.

Very impressive. Smaller than Tikal but considering the heat and humidity that's ok. Used Mayan Temple Tours to get there and then had a second guide once we paid for admission to the ruins. I was recovering from a heart stent operation and these guys took extra good care of me with frequent rest stops. Easy climbing up and down... More

We visited the ruins and had a wonderful time. THey have restrooms at the front. It is very warm and lots of bugs. WE had a lunch provided for us. They set up a buffet style lunch and it was great! Very fancy. After eating we were swarmed by a dozen pre teen girls trying to sell stuff. Take your... More

Company ruins are beautiful, accurate large for one day visit. The weather in Copan is mild and makes it wonderful experience. The hieroglyph stairs are amazing! Three things makes Copan special comparing to other maya ruins: - weather - mocows parrots - English signs!!

Copan ruins, one of Honduras main tourist attractions and it shows in the price. But it is worth the money. Stayed in the nearby village and walked down to the ruins - 20 mins. The site is quite extensive and at the counter you can pay an additional fee for the tunnels and for the nearby (20 min walk) smaller... More

Went and did a self tour around the ruins. Kind of wish we would have hired a guide, but it is definitely a beautiful site to see and easy to get to by foot.

We don't usually spend the money or time to get a tour guide, as we like to explore new places ourselves and at our own pace. But Copan ruins are very raw and unadulterated. Without one of their well versed guides, you will likely miss some of the most amazing details re: the history of these beautiful ruins.

Breathtaking ruins, the guides were very knowledgable and worth the money. Very easy to get to from the city center, if you are not going to walk take a tuc tic.

My husband and I loved our trip to the Ruins. In fact we loved it so much that we went twice during our honeymoon! The first day we had a guide walk us through the whole site and tell us the stories behind the statues and hieroglyphics. Also we went to the replica museum there of first kings monuments along... This place is beautiful. I recommend getting a guide...it helps to understand more of the Mayan culture. For the guides, they speak spanish and english. The cost for a guide is $30 regardless of how many people. I was a solo traveler, so I waited around for about 20 minutes to join another group (instead of paying $30 for me... More
