This was a fabulous location to visit. The ruins are a majestic combination of nature and historical architecture. The guides are helpful and the ruins are truly fascinating.

Highly recommended for anyone interested in Mayan Culture. Must see the city of Ancient Copan. I was fascinated by the structures that were built thousands of years ago. This is worth the trip into the interior of Honduras. I especially like the North Plaza where ceremonial beheading took place, utilizing a blood rock to drain blood from the lifeless head... More

It's a safe, beautiful and quiet place. Not too expensive. I loved Port Royal beer. It has nice bars and restaurants, not too expensive. I recomend to try "baleadas", a local food with a tasty wheat tortilla, stuffed with meat, cheesse or eggs. It's easy to move in "tuc tuc" to one place to another.

A very well planned park. The guides are excellent. Their knowledge level was impressive and their passion for the preservation of the ruins was inspiring. The birds and wildlife add another level to the experience. It is one of the most fascinating places to travel in Central America. I suggest going with Gate1 Travel.

If you are following the Mayan trail through Central America, it is possible to have 'ruin overload'. However, this site is quite different from other northern sites with intricate carvings, etc. It is also small enough to enjoy the surrounds and wildlife as well. As we walked into the site, we were greeted by a group of macaws flying down... More

Incredible! Ancient Maya city - tells a fascinating story of the Maya people from circa 600BC. Beautiful and well persevered art and architecture. I've been 5+ times and keep enjoying and learning something new. Tranquil space great even for sitting a while and reading.

Take a guide on the tour to get more out of the history. It is the same price for one person or a group of 7 like we had. We were on an afternoon tour and felt we had enough time to see all we wanted.

This city was maybe the highlight of my 2 week trip. The streets are cobble stone and the town is very comfortable and feels safe. Go see the ruins! They are really truly amazing!

The ruins are covering a big area and there is a lot to discover and to learn about the Mayan culture. However, I missed the stunning view because trees are often blocking the view and the ruins are not as good restored as I saw it in other places. So for me it was a good place to learn, but... More

Tour guides provided a wealth of information and history of the Mayan people. Amazing. The Macaws on site were spectacular.
