Having done another freedive course a few years earlier, I was very interested to see what this one could offer. We never expected to make the kind of progress my mates and I achieved. Tex' experienced approach was incredibly refreshing, always informative, next-level relaxing, and allowed us to remain super calm and safe while pushing ourselves to new depths. His... More

I have been freediving for 5 years and done couple of freediving courses before my trip to Utila. Before this trip I have been freediving for instance in Dahab, Thailand, Indonesia, Finland and Norway. I spent 2 weeks in Utila and spent most of my time freediving with apnea total. My goal is to start competing in debth so I... More

Tex has a great teaching style...patient, positive and he creates a totally non-competitive environment. He explains the whole process in a way that allowed me to experiment with the techniques while feeling completely safe. Tex's guidance and continual feedback allowed me to dive much deeper and more relaxed than I could have imagined. The course is designed well to allow... More

I am a dive master, surfer and work on boats and after taking this course I feel even more comfortable with being on, in or below the water. You truly gain a new relationship with yourself and the water! Tex is a great mentor!

I had my first ever free diving beginner course with Tex doing yoga and free diving 6 months ago, and I decided to come back to do me advanced course with Apnea Total Utila Mark Roger. Mark taught me several breathing techniques (abdominal, diaphragm, breath up). Tex was not only thoroughly knowledgeable but he was so patient and stressed the... More

I can't say enough about how awesome and worthwhile this class is. I only regret that I couldn't stay and do the advanced and free masters class. Tex is a patient and laid back instructor who cares deeply about the safety and fun of the sport for everyone. Highly recommend taking the class, you will be shocked at what you... More

I wasn't planning on doing the free diving course during my time in Utila but had heard that it was a great course so I thought I would give it a try. Tex was very professional, flexible with our schedules, and very easy going. He made me feel safe in the water and taught us great techniques for getting the... More

I never thought of doing free-diving, I always thought this is only a sport for people who grow up by the ocean like Australians/Hawaiis, but I am from mainland China and never got to spend much time in the ocean. However, I was totally wrong. Free-diving is for everybody! I got to take the free diving course with David, He... More

I came to Utila for a free dive course after having completed a beginner course in Bali. In Bali I was able to reach 12m, but hadn't achieved my goal which was 20m. My experience with Apnea Total blew my mind - on my last day of diving I reached 37m or 120 feet! I never imagined I could go... More

This place was recommended by someone i met in Bolivia. And my swiss friend wasnt wrong. Tex and David are both passionate about the sport and have a wealth of information to give. I took the first course and the advanced and enjoyed them so much I am doing the master course now.
