One of the best trips of my life and Ecomarine was a huge part of it. You WILL NOT regret it. Ask for Nate and tell them Kyle sent you!

I wanted to experience diving around Utila without having to go with one of the dive shops that seem to be there primarily to party, and seem to consider the actual diving to be secondary. Gunter's is amazing. It's a small set up, very relaxed, well organised and everything feels professionally done without being business like and impersonal. I dove... More

I can't say enough good things about this provider. Tara helped me set up a last-minute dive with aplomb, grace, a sense of humor, and utter candor. It was both affordable and magnificent. If you ever find yourself in Utila, please choose the best vendor on the island: Gunter's Ecomarine. You won't be disappointed.

The staff are great and it has a really relaxed feel compared to other hostels. Lots of the divers are here longterm so feels like a family. Their prices are more expensive than other dive shops as they add on 15% tax and reef fees on top of their price. The dorms are pretty basic and don't include toilet paper... More

We stayed At gunters dive Shop for about 8 days And if we could we would stay for a longer time. It's not that big like other hostels but at least this made it an unbelievable stay. It was like a family feeling (about 20 people incl. stuff). You decide when you wanna dive and where. They will help you... More

We had 4 days in Utila and by the end of it Ecomarine felt like home. We only had a limited amount of time yet managed to complete both open water and advanced PADI courses. The staff were great at accomodating us and making sure we got everything done. Our instructors was were fantastic and professional and we had no... More

I did my DM with the Ecos in July & August 2014. It is a small dive operation, which is what I liked about it - the family feel of the place, the location in Sandy Bay, a little way off from the bustle of main street. If you are looking for a large shop with plenty of twenty year... More

I went to utila just to see what everyone was talking about, not planning on diving or even sticking around for a bit I started to walk down main street. It is a bit of a walk but when you get passed all the bustle of the rest of the shops you hit this little gem down in sandy bay.... More

My wife and I work in the dive industry, and whenever we go on vacation we normally research dive shops, but never actually book anything until we get to our destination and feel stuff out. We dove a few days with Gunter's Ecomarine, and they were fantastic. While they ran a bit on "Island Time" the service was still excellent... More

My friend and I stayed here at the beginning of June, we were only ment to stay 1 week but loved it so much we ended up staying for over 2 weeks! Everyone is super friendly and chilled out. We did two dive courses which we could do at our own pace and both Nate and Ernesto are great diving... More
