Awesome dive shop - I logged 80+ dives at Ecomarine in 82 days on Utila. Steve and Tara (managers) are great and the whole shop feels like one big family. On any given night you can find shop staff, locals, long-term ex-pats and dive customers all hanging out on the dock (bar) so it's a great place to meet people,... More

After spending 7 months diving on the small island of Utila Imcan honestly say Imcouldnt not have picked a better shop to deal with. Some dive shops there focus on the kids but EcoMarine caters to everyone and everyone feels at home. The instructors are very knowledgable and have the best Dive Masters to help on the dives and with... More

Very relaxed place with small class size ... very personal atmosphere! We got offered a double room instead of a dormitorio the time we spent there for the padi open water course and used one of our free dives for the deep water adventure dive what cost us 15 $ ... thumbs up! Very good stuff, uncomplicated!!! Will be back... More

Me and my boyfriend chose this place out of the multiple places to dive in Utila because it had the best ambience on first impressions and it didn´t disappoint. We spent a week staying there and four days of that doing our open water course. Ernesto was our instructor and he was excellent at his job and good fun to... More

TL;DR Gunter's Ecomarine Dive Shop is THE best place to dive. Very cost-effective dive packages available. Great people, great atmosphere, family feel. Would go back in a heart beat. Scratch that, I am going back soon. The week before I was working in an office, 60 hour work week and looking to take a trip down south for cheaper diving... More

The warmth and welcome from Tara and Steve cannot be beat. You can find bigger shops and a coue with several boats versus one.... But no one can try so hard and succeed at delivering what you want. We had a couple quirky needs and somewhat tricky/demanding schedule and NOONE ELSE would have it. Tara was excited and creative and... More

Diving in Utila is an experience I'd recommend to anyone. The waters are warm, the reef is healthy and the vibe is just the right combination of relaxed and intoxicated. Thankfully, I also had the pleasure of diving with what I can only describe as the very best group of divemasters I've ever met. Ecomarine isn't just a dive shop,... More

We dove for a couple of weeks with Eco Marine. We visited a few shops and dove with a couple others before we found this little gem. It was clear after our first day of diving with them that we had found a perfect fit. If you want to dive in Utila and not be diving at a "dive factory"... More

I had a week to spend after Christmas and wanted to use it to complete my PADI open water certification. I heard that Honduras had some of the best AND CHEAPEST diving in the world (and it was much closer than Thailand’s reefs). After consulting with Lonely Planet, I learned that the diving is less expensive on Utila, there are... More
