I just got my PADI Open Water Cerfication with Gunther's and I'm really happy I chose them from the numerous dive shops around Utila. Their shop is smaller than most of the more popular spots and that suited me just fine. I wasn't feeling like studying in a big class and when I met Nate, my instructor, he told me... More

After visiting a few other dive shops, who seemed very party-ish and crowded- the opposite of what we were looking for, we arrived at Gunther's dive shop. We immediately noticed the beautiful pier and laid back atmosphere. We were welcomed by the super friendly and nice Maria who offered us to take the open water course just the two of... More

I spent 10 days with Gunters Ecomarine doing both an advanced open water scuba course and a beginner freediving course. The scuba instructors Ernesto and Aiden were very knowledgeable, confident, patient, professional, and genuinely enjoy showing you the reefs. They took a lot of trips to the north side even though it is more costly and time consuming for them.... More

Fantastic friendly people at this dive shop! Martin took great care of us on our 3 days of diving and Capt. Joe was the best! Freindly , laid back and great diving on top of that! Thanks for everything. We will be back

We originally weren't going to pick gunther's but as we were staying right across from it we thought we should, and were definitly thankful we did! We took the open water course and were instantly given a better price than parrots or captain morgans, and started the course the next day. The course was smooth and the instructor Ernesto was... Went out with Steve (boat captain), Ernesto and Kate (divemasters) for a couple of dives the other day. We visited a site of the North coast first and then one off the South East. Both sites were stunning. There were around 10-12 divers on the boat and we were split been the divemasters, so decent sized groups with nobody getting... More

I did a couple of fun dives with Ecomarine and have met a lovely bunch of people. It's cheap and small groups go diving so your not bumping into other divers all the time. I will definitely do some more dives with them while I am out here.

We spent nearly a week with Ecomarine and we enjoyed it! We did our Rescue Course with them and got EANx certified. Staff is super friendly, the family-like atmosphere is great and diving with Ernesto and Nate was a lot of fun! And: prices are unbeatable! Nevertheless, we had some moments of doubt which nearly made us switch to another... More

So , for a start its the best looking dock with an extremely nice setup and chilled-out atmosphere. It has a very natural feeling with "gifts from the ocean" being displayed all over the dock like driftwood that they collected over time and a wooden structure that will blow your mind. They have a really friendly team that will take... More

Ecomarine has a friendly and laid-back atmosphere, yet also professional with small class sizes. They have hammocks where you can chill on the dock, and they offer free accommodation with your course. Otherwise it's only $6 a night to stay in their dorms! They are also located near the one public beach in the bay.
