Close to the night life yet beautifully situated for a chilled atmosphere, and just a short walk away from town centre. Staying in Pirate's Bay Inn gives you the chance to explore Utila and everything this friendly island has to offer, from the restaurants to the beaches and maybe even to search for Captain Morgan's legendary treasure.

I just finished a week vacation in Utila and spent nearly all of it (11 dives) diving with the crew from Captain Morgan’s Dive Centre. Although we didn’t stay at Pirate’s Bay Inn (not required), Captain Morgan’s Dive Centre came highly recommended from our property manager and we were not disappointed. First of all, the vibe at CM’s is very... More

The diving was great, and Chris, Laurent, and Pierre are great instructors, super friendly, and lots of fun to dive with. That being said, after I returned, I was given other (better?) dive shop recommendations. Although, the diving was unbelievably cheap, luckily, I had my own gear. I found their rental suits to be an embarrassment to the company as... More

I'm very sorry you had to use those wet suits. Your right they were embarrassing. We put 24 brand new long 3mm Akona wet suits into service a couple of weeks ago after arriving over a month late. We switched to another brand that should last longer since many had had only been in service since last November which is... More

I came here never having scuba dived in my life and did my open water and advanced back to back after having such a blast with my open water certification. My instructors, Kyle, Pierre and Lauren, were absolutely amazing. Aside from being excellent teachers, they know how to be serious and informative while keeping the class genuinely fun and exciting.... More

I am a diver, advanced cert, so I was just looking for a place to do some dives and potentially get some free or low cost lodging. I looked up multiple dive shops on the island and shot them all emails, only one responded: Anthony at Captain Morgan's. That already told me a lot. Once I arrived the dorms were... More

Excellent dive school and accommodation in Utila. We did our AOW with Laurent who is a champ and super professional. The accommodation is great, clean and spacious and the excellent gas hot water showers deserve a mention. Well managed by David and overall a great place to stay. It also attracts a good crowd of people who are open and... More

I completed my OW and AOW here recently. The manager, David, is super helpful and friendly (despite us making lots of schedule and accommodation changes) and joined us for drinks most nights despite being on crutches. We had a great group, & our instructor, Sasha, was really cool, made sure everyone was totally relaxed, knew what were doing and enjoyed... More

I asked many people about which was the best dive lodge to dive and stay at and all answers were the same. Captain Morgans. As a Rescue Diver whos been lucky enough to dive all over the world I make my mind up about a lodge in 30 seconds, too cool, too unprofessional, no atmosphere etc. Well I am delighted... More

My favourite place in Utila. The atmosphere in Captain Morgan's is very laid back and accommodating. The staff go out of their way to make you feel very welcomed and comfortable. Special mention to Sasha the diving instructor for being an exceptional teacher. Must also mention David for doing great work behind the desk. Would recommend to anyone wanting a... More

Spent 9 days at the dive center for Open Water and Advanced courses. Prices we're the best on the island and you get a discount if you do more than one course. Our Instructor Laurent Dahan was very competent and helpful. He took really good care of us and gave us a lot of tips of how to master diving,... More

Knowing we were going to learn to dive in Utila, We selected Captain Morgans purely from reviews and it lived up to the hype. Right from stepping off the ferry they greeted us and gave us a lift to the hostel (even though it is easily walking distance). David then gives you a full tour of the premises giving you... More
