At this stoponour cruise we were tired from the previous stops and excursions and just wanted some down time at the beach. Perfect place! Close to the pier, ten minutes to leave the ship and walk. Beautiful whie sand, clear water, palm trees, restaurants, shops, kayaks swimming snorkling, what else to say. A beautiful location. Skip the rush and fuss... More

I feel for those who stop on Roatan and doesn't leave the Disney -like port. Having said that it is a very nice cruise ship stop...and a fun stop for those visiting by car. Touristy of course but nicely done. I really encourage actually seeing the island and meeting the wonderful people.

Mahogany Bay is extremely beautiful island. It's a place where you can relax on the beach in covered lounge chairs, sip on tropical drinks, eat, dance and have a great time. I found the magical chair ride a total waist of time and money when you can walk to the beach in less than 5 minutes.

Although our stop in Roatan was beautiful the beach at Mahogany Beach was disappointing. The beach is very well landscaped but because you are in a cove there is no wave action. From our vantage point on the cruise ship we could see the gulf and waves and it was disappointing not to be able to go play. We walked... More

This is a great place to catch some rays, drink a tropical drink and hang out of the day. A few hints: 1. Do not pay for the magical chair ride unless you physically can't walk. Enjoy the extremely short walk to the beach. 2. Rent a clam shell. You can lower or raise it as needed for sun exposure.... More

Location, shopping, beach, lounge chairs, umbrellas, food, drinks, kayaks, SEA TURTLES, all in the same place. the beach area is just outstanding and no more than 100 yards from the boat for great pictures. The water is clam and clear, and if lucky you'll see a small stingray around. Great upgrade from the previous port for Honduras this is a... More

Loved the cable car to the beach but once I got there I walked into the water for only few minutes. It felt good but couldn't stand the crown. Cable car broke down on the way back. Fortunately, I was not in one of them.

While on your cruise you will stop at Mahogany Bay. I believe this is totally owned by Carnival since they have you trapped and everything is right there at the pier. Kinda Funny Ya know. But the swimming is great the snorkeling is great and the food is awesome. You will have a great time and you will be back.

PROS: Beautiful landscaping! Plenty of chairs. Very accessible. CONS: CROWDED, loud, party atmosphere. Not a relaxing day at the beach while we were there. Never seen so many people in the water all at once! (2 ships in port while we were there) Would skip this beach if we ever came back, and do something on our own instead.

We rarely will stay in the cruise port when we dock somewhere as we like to get out and explore the local area and meet the local people. When we were done with exploring the island, we ended up at the ship with about two hours to spare. Rather than waste our time in the ship, we decided to go... More
