We were off the carnival Dream and we did not do the chair lift but walked. There were so many butterflies and hummingbirds along the way, glad we walked!. We plopped down right at the end of the chairlift on some chairs right in the front. The only bar is a Fat Tuesdays so it is pricey. $10 and up... More

Came to the beach as a shore excursion on a cruise. Thankful that I reserved in advance, the clamshells and water floaties went pretty quickly, and space got very limited as the day went on. Plenty of space out further in the water though most were right by the shoreline which was filled with kids and/or people who couldn't get... More

Gorgeous beaches, palm trees, hammocks, food and more. We had a wonderful time, and highly recommend it if you want to relax.

Went to the Mahogany Bay beach via chairlift and rented a 'clamshell' for shade which came with two floats and two lounge chairs. Water was crystal clear and refreshingly inviting. For me, the only downfall was a long walk/swim to any reef for snorkeling. My wife can't do the long walks and I did not want to leave her alone.... More

More of a party atmosphere. Fat Tuesday's is fun for a dance on their bar and a tasting of frozen drinks The beach is clean and quiet. Relaxing free chairs near the shore. Plenty of food areas but on this trip I didn't experiment. Beach staff friendly and efficient with drink delivery. The only con was the walking involved down... More

Mahogany Beach is a port of call for Carnival Cruise Lines. The food (bbq/grilled) offered from is good, and the drinks from Fat Tuesday's are good also, not to light/watered down. The chair lift from the shopping area to the beach is kind of pricey at $12.00 for an all day pass. Chairs, loungers, or clamshells (seats 2) can be... More

Stopped here after doing 1st time scuba at Eco Dive, and great stop. Rode the chair lift over and got a few great pics. Got there and had a few snacks at the bar then proceeded to get a free lounger and hit the water. Close up water has a sand bottom, but sea grass the further out you walk.... More

Mahogany Bay is a resort area that Carnival Cruise Lines has developed on Roatan, strictly for the enjoyment of its cruise passengers.Of course there is the usual array of shops at the port, but I did notice some good prices at the Duty Free Shop there. There is a chair lift that will take you from the port to the... More

We traveled to Roatan on the Carnival Glory on August 20, 2014. Even if this beach is man made it is beautiful and free. You have to disembark early to get a chair. The site is very complete but too small. Bring your snorkel gear and go on the left side (end of the beach). Nice nature trail (don't take... More

Our cruise ship docked right next to Mahogany Bay. You could take a chair lift to get a bird's eye view but it is a very nice walk. I hear lots of birds and saw a green hummingbird. Lots of Lounging chairs, get there early to get one in the shade. We brought our own snorkeling gear and had a... More
