This 18-hole, par-72, 7200 yard championship golf course was created by world famous golf course architect Pete Dye. The course starts at the ocean’s doorstep, rises into the island’s rolling foothills, then takes golfers on a wild ride back to the seaside clubhouse. It features one of Dye’s signature island greens, and 14 holes offer stunning vistas of the ocean and the Meso-American Barrier Reef. The Black Pearl is not only a haven for golfers, but for the vast wildlife on Roatan as well. With more than 100,000 plants and trees, the golf course is one of the largest sanctuaries of plant and animal life on the island. This eco-friendly golf course is one of only a few golf courses in the world to use a special strain of grass called Seashore Paspalum. Dye Designs were pioneers of the use of this salt-water tolerant strand for tropics-based projects, known for its environmental compatibility, ease of irrigation and maintenance, and translucent green hue. Its appearance, juxtaposed against the turquoise Caribbean waters, inspired The Black Pearl’s tagline: “The Best Greens and the Best Blues.” The Black Pearl also features state of the art practice facilities including a lighted driving range, ocean front warm-up range, and a practice chipping green designed to create an atmosphere of game-improvement, one that encourages guests and residents to enhance their skill sets while honing their games on one of the region’s most playable layouts. This is a semi-private course with a myriad of membership options available including temporary resident memberships, corporate and executive memberships, and yearly memberships. The Black Pearl is a world-class golf course that perfectly complements Pristine Bay’s luxury resort and real estate options. « less

Pete Dye design (TPC sawgrass) with undulating fairways and greens. Like most of his designs it is more intimidating looking but if you commit to your shots you can play decently on this track. The view as you come over the hill looking over the course is spectacular! Thom, the head professional there is a class act and was a... More

I played The Black Pearl two times while in Roatan. What a pleasant surprise! It is a Pete Dye design and a perfect blend of challenge and beauty while not punishing like many resort and Pete Dye courses. I've played several top 100 courses around the world and this ranks among the best I've played. It's in great condition and... More

Played it today while staying at the stunning Las Verandas in Pristine Bay. One if the best and most fun course I've ever played, and I have played many all over the world.

My son and I played this course last week. In fact, we had so much fun playing it on Wednesday that we came back for more on Friday! The course is situated in the midst of one of the nicest resorts in Honduras, Pristine Bay. In beautiful condition, the course has loads of character including gentle slopes, strategically placed trees,... More

We played it three times while in Roatan and each time was challenging. It was one of our favorite things to do on the island. The greens and fairways were well manicured.

Just played this great course in February while on vacation in Roatan. A great layout that can play long from the tips or just tricky from anywhere else. Bunkers, creeks, strategic trees, ponds, raised greens, and tough to read greens round out some of the challenges you'll find during your round. And if that's not enough, perhaps some drastic elevation... More

My husband and I recently started playing golf and jumped at the opportunity to play this amazingly beautiful course as part of our stop in Honduras on our carnival cruise. Threatening rain when we debarked, we were given the chance for a full refund but decided to play anyway. We did get soaked on the front nine but the course... More

Just got back from playing six rounds of golf at the Black Pearl. The golf course is beautiful and the greens are immaculate. In addition to the course the staff at the black pearl are extremely helpful. I want to extend a special thanks to Tim, who works with Joel in the pro-shop. I lost my wedding ring while playing... We played a round at this new addition to Roatan. The coarse was in excellent shape and the greens are immaculate .The coarse is fairly open with the odd water hazard to make it interesting. Great scenery overlooking the Carribean Sea .There was almost no one on the coarse which allowed for a steady pace and a little time to enjoy... More

Pristine Bay is a true gem. While on our second visit in July we played this course or rather dh did. I drove the cart and took pictures. The course is stunning and manicured to perfection. My husband had a blast.
