I loved Maya Key, we visited here while on our Carnival Cruise. My teen son (15) and I loved every moment we spent here, and still talk about it 6 months later. The service was amazing, snorkeling (although seas were a little rougher then an overprotective mom would of liked) was amazing, food, drinks, swimming...all amazing. Best part, meeting Ting,... People... This is an absolute must for an excursion when visiting Roatan Honduras. Couple suggestions: Take a phone picture of the schedule of activity board and take a phone picture of the map of the island. If you have your own snorkel equipment, bring it! The price for equipment is high at $35 a person. The snorkeling is wonderful once... More

We booked a trip to Maya Key through our cruise ship (Caribbean Princess) and were very glad we did! This was our favorite excursion that we took during our Western Caribbean cruise. The island is an easy bus/boat ride from where the cruise ships dock. The island is has a small animal sanctuary that houses Monkeys, Birds, some big cats,... More

We were fortunate to book the Maya Key excursion when we first boarded the Norwegian Sun for our 7 day Western Caribbean cruise. Availability is limited and we were originally told the excursion was filled when I tried booking it on-line a week before our cruise. I am very happy that I did not let that stop me from asking... This was a decent place to go for a visit to the beach from a cruise ship, but not truly great. The island has a collection of animals rescued/confiscated on display, a Mayan exhibit, a pool, and a halfway decent beach. Our trip came with a lunch of fried fish, barbecued chicken, rice & beans, and dried banana chips; the... More

My 6-yr-old daughter and I visited Maya Key as a cruise ship excursion. We enjoyed our time there very much. Everything was very well maintained and clean. The food was tasty. The staff was friendly but not overly solicitous. We were not hounded or pressured to spend a cent. There were several great spots to have some privacy on the... More

This was a great place to go. We also did a cruise ship excursion. Very convenient to get to as everyone mentioned. Very well kept and very clean and many workers cleaning the grounds. The animals were nice however we had just done Belize zoo so did not spend a lot of time on them. I looked at mayan museum... More

Visited via a tour offered by our cruise ship. 15 min. boat ride from terminal port to key. They offer a guided tour that covers animals and a small replica area that covers local history, you also go on your own to explore. They have nice area to eat lunch, restrooms, lockers, pool and gift shop. Small beach area with... More

We didn't want an excursion but did want enjoy a beach day so Maya Beach was perfect. Most people sit right near the entrance so go further down the beach and it is not as busy. Also, there is a cabana area further down that costs extra. I wouldn't pay for it...no one seemed to be in their cabanas anyway,... More

The island is right next to the cruise ship port in Roatan. We were there when a ship happened to be docked. The island was overflowing with people. It was very hard to do any snorkeling because the water was so crowded. There are some fake Mayan ruins on the island and a small zoo. The zoo was the most... More
