We have never seen a more amazing garden than in this idyllic setting on Lake Atitlan. The garden is meticulously terraformed, with multiple specimens of just about every tropical flower you can name. There are orchids all over the place. You can spend hours admiring and photographing these beautiful plants.

The gardens surrounding the rooms and pool were filled with flowers and thus lots of hummingbirds. The view across the lake towards the volcanos really is magnificent. The attention to detail in the garden is intriguing from the fountain garden in the entrance to the patterns of succulents in ceramic pots. The 'botanic gardens' on the other side of the... More

The gardens are manicured to within an inch. Various plants are laid out sweeping down to the lakeside. Birds are a feature including a peacock as well as more expected parakeets etc The grounds are worth exploring for the different plants

The gardens, pool & view are fantastic, and the front desk staff was extremely helpful. On the negative side, the hotel itself is quite dated - particularly the bathrooms. I understand that a renovation is a huge undertaking, but I would think the price would at least justify complimentary water or coffee, which were not provided. For better or worse,... More

We have seen Versace, Lenape and numerous other beautiful well kept formal gardens all over the world, but these are arguably the best in the west, especially south of the US border. If you are in Guatemala go see them.

These magnificent gardens surround the Hotel Atitlan. If you are not staying here, it is definitely worth it to pay the admission fee to walk around and see every flower you can imagine, pluis lush jungle plantings.

We really enjoyed walking the grounds around the hotel, enjoying the flowers and the parrots, which are perfect for framing the awesome views of the volcanoes circling Lake Atitlán. Its a great spot for taking nature and portrait pictures. We were staying at the hotel so didn't have to pay extra to stroll the gardens; would recommend going for breakfast... More

We have stayed at the Hotel Atitlan and it was a big disappointment, the gardens are pretty but if you just come to visit the gardens you can walk through them in 30 minutes and all it has is pretty flowers and some caged birds. If you are absolutely bored out of your head the gardens are ok to visit... More

The gardens, although lovely, are quite small. Twenty minutes would be plenty of time to take them in. But having lunch at the hotel to use the 55Q was well worth it. Lunches can be found for 65-80 Q and the atmosphere is just lovely. The colorful dining area overlooking the lake is definitely a treat!
