As mentioned in other reports, diving around Cocos Island is the best when it comes to the big pelagics. The Wind Dancer is an old boat, they have not modernized it for long time. Fortunately, the chef in the kitchen is very good and the staff overall are friendly, helpfull and skilled. A word on the Cocos Island National Park:... More

We did a liveaboard with Sea Hunter to Cocos island early Dec. We booked 2 years in advance with a group from Thailand ... basically chartered the boat. The services and support before our arrival has been great ... providing us info from recommended hotels in Costa Rica, visa information, land travel and even other tours. They have been superb.... My husband and I spent 10 days diving Cocos Island aboard the Wind Dancer in July 2014. This boat is tired, uncomfortable and in need of serious refurbishing. Our cabin reminded me of summer cabins when I was kid--cramped with absolutely no headroom for the double bed (there's a twin bunk above it in the cabins) and terribly old and... More

After spending a night at the Holiday Inn, Escazu, myself and the other 20 divers were transported by bus to Puntarenas to board the Wind Dancer. It was about a 2 hour ride. We then set out for the 30+ hour crossing to Cocos Island. The Wind Dancer is a bit of a clunky boat with small double occupancy cabins... More

Have just done a 10 day live aboard Argo, diving many a site around Cocos Island. It's a wonderfully preserved natural habitat for many large marine life - sharks everywhere! Undersea Hunter were terrific, I heard that the Argo is the limo of the sea, and that's correct

I went on the M/V Argo with Undersea Hunter in September 2014 to Cocos Island and had a fantastic experience. The boat is very nice with large cabins/bathrooms, excellent gear space, and nice common areas. They use skiffs to transport you to and from the dive sites, which is so much more comfortable/stable than inflatable zodiacs. The crew was professional... More

I travelled to the Cocos Island with the Undersea Group on the Undersea Hunter. I can not recommend them highly enough. The boat was clean and well run, the staff could not do enough to make sure my trip was superb. The cabins are comfortable with private showers and bathrooms, there was never a problem with hot water. We were... More

I travelled to the Coco's island on the Okeanos Aggressor and had a fantastic time. I chose the boat based on the timing (I was diving in Wolf & Darwin in Galapagos the previous week) plus friends' recommendations that the crew were fantastic. I was concerned that I would be comparing the two locations all the time .. I did... More

The Undersea Hunter Group provides a live-aboard service from Puntarenos Costa Rica to Cocos island in the eastern pacific designed exclusively for scuba divers. There are three vessels, Sea Hunter, Argo and the Undersea Hunter. I have had the pleasure of traveling on Sea Hunter twice and Undersea Hunter once. I have also been lucky enough to have a tour... Incredible experience! ... Can't say the Cocos Island is the best diving in the world since we have not been to the Galapagos nor Palau ... we have dived in Tahiti, Mexico, and most of the entire Caribbean from the Bahamas to Bonaire & Tobago and without question the Cocos was the best diving we have ever experienced! From the... More
