We spent five days with Reef CI at their outpost on Tom Owens Caye in a Sapodilla Cayes Reserve 37 miles east of Punta Gorda. The whole operation was incredibly well run, with outstanding staff. Reef CI works with volunteers to collect reef data - conch and lobster surveys, reef health transects, and lion fish control. I was astonished at... More

Paradise is the word to describe this island. The first experience is on the boat to get to the island. 35 miles offshore, you start to realise how remote it is...perfect. We spent a week on the island, which is tiny, met great people of all ages , from all parts of the world. Rooms and cabanas are comfortable and... More

I recently spent 3 months on Tom Owen's Caye and can't think of one negative thing to say about my experience(s). This was my second time back to the island after completing my Rescue Course back in March of 2014. I loved it so much, that I was counting down the days to the start of trip number two, as... More

After spending 4 weeks at ReefCI learning all about reef conservation and marine biology, I cannot speak highly enough of this program. I really enjoyed the opportunity to learn and give back. Polly's team are very generous in the sharing of their knowledge/skills both about marine conservation and local information. Combine this with fresh tasty food, like minded people and... More

Treat yourself to a well earned break on Tom Owens paradise island. Here you can relax, recuperate and find yourself new friends while diving in exclusive marine reserve. Polly runs a very professional dive centre with well maintained dive equipment. The dive instructors are very competent and knowledgable. The food is excellent and fresh. I would highly recommend enjoying some... More

What a fun vacation!. We spent 2 weeks at Tom Owens Caye followed by by a couple dives at a more typical tourist destination. Having never been to Belize before we spent a lot of time trying to figure out where the best place to stay would be. I would say Reef CI might be a good choice for you... More

I just spent five days on Tom Owens Caye with my husband and two teenaged sons and we couldn't have asked for a better variety of experiences. With three to four dives per day we were very active, but we still had lots of down time to rest in the hammocks and enjoy the gorgeous ocean. Plus, we helped with... More

This is my fourth visit to Reef Conservation International - ReefCI. The experiences that I've had here are consistently fantastic. In all ways and aspects of the week spent with the staff. Learning about reef conservation is important. Diving with the staff to help in their weekly data collections is special. The reef (2nd longest in the world) is the... More

I've been actively diving for 30 years and ReefCI is by far the best! Polly and her team adhere to strict safety standards at the same time as ensuring an enjoyable and educational experience. Located on Tom Owens Caye, the dive sites are all within a 5-10 minute boat ride. Between dives, there are educational sessions with staff and a... More

ReefCI is a dive and fishing reef conservation organisation. We love being on Tom Owen's Caye as it's so relaxed and laidback, and yet we can feel useful helping with reef conservation. Several people have mentioned the lionfish spearing - this is a HUGE problem in the Caribbean. Lionfish are an invasive species, with no predators, voracious feeders, and rapid... More
