Did a week at ReefCI the first week of February. It was quite the experience all around so I'll try and cover it all in this review. We arrived in Placencia Saturday afternoon for a Monday morning departure. (Note - that's WAY TOO LONG in Placencia. You don't need more than a few hours to see everything twice). We met... More

I visited reefci in september/august 2015 and had the pleasure of staying for 4 weeks. I arrived a complete beginner to diving and left an advance open water diver with a whole bunch of new friends! I was a lone traveller and this was my first time travelling alone. I found the project through the volunteering website POD volunteer. For... More

I just returned from my second week long sojourn on Tom Owen Island with Reef CI. I can not say enough good about this experience. I felt comfortable joining the team as a 63 yr old woman traveling alone. I had about 20 dives and my advanced certification last year. Both years the staff were very helpful with reacquainting me... A stunning little island with amazing diving and the dive managers Hayley and Tom Weeks were incredible. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who loves the underwater life, I didn't want to come up! This is particularly good if you are travelling alone, male or female. Tom took me through a skills refresher and both he and Hayley lead... More

Peaceful little island, genuinely welcoming staff, excellent diving and good company. Would recommed this for teenagers and older. Very safe. Very capable staff, good food & lots of diving. Spearfishing the highly invasive introduced Lionfish during the day & eating them at night B-) I would send my kids there in a heartbeat. Beautiful Caribbean island experience

This was my first time on Tom Owens Caye- can't recommend the whole experience highly enough. Wonderful for dive enthusiasts as you do three dives a day in lovely warm waters. If you want to complete a PADI course no better place to do it, and no better instructors- I did my advanced open water and learned so much more... More

ReefCI now departs out of Placencia instead of Punta Gorda. This trip to Town Owens Caye is now shorter and staying in Placencia before/after the Monday-Friday stay on the caye is way better. They use the main municipal pier (aka "big dock") at the southern end of Placencia. So if you're just going to the area for the ReefCI week,... More

Great 1st experience for a dive trip. Great staff. Would definitely recommend. The only negative was that the Wi-Fi didn't work when I was there.

Highly recommend this if you have PADI courses to do and/or if you are interested in spearing lionfish and learning about marine conservation. The dive instructors, Haley and Tom, are lovely people and do an excellent job. Food was better than decent. It's also pretty fantastic just to spend a week living rough where you couldn't get out of sight... More

I'm a 21 year old student from the UK and I've just come back from spending 3 weeks on the island. I've done some independent travel & volunteering projects in the past, but this was the best trip I've ever done- no doubt about it. I was a rescue diver when I went out; I wasn't planning on doing any... More
