Having my own tour company, I can be very critical of others, and I found Seahorse to be nothing but professional! The gear is all in very good condition, the boat we went out on was very well maintained, and the guides were exactly what you want - they are there to help you have a great experience. The Silk... I've been diving for 30 years but have not dove frequently of late, and my wife snorkels only. The Seahorse team did a terrific job of creating a trip that matched both our needs. We were paired up with two other couples that dove. We went out to Silk Caye. I did a refresher dive 1:1 with a dive instructor... More

We went to Silk Cayes. Devin was our snorkel guide and he was very knowledgeable and helpful to us, pointing out lots of species of fish and sea life. Lunch on the little island was delicious- lion fish, coleslaw, rice and beans and watermelon. We were lucky enough to see nurse sharks, a spotted ray and a sea turtle. Even... More

We did 3 snorkel outings with this family-owned dive shop. We wanted to do a half-day outing that wasn't offered so they did a private trip for us at a reasonable price. The guides are all knowledgeable, but Sean is the best if you can get him. Everything is well organized and if you get a trip that provides lunch,... More

I had some extra time on my vacation in December, so I decided to go ahead and get my "Open Water Certification" for scuba diving. I live in Seattle, so learning to dive in the Pacific Northwest can be a little cold. The staff at Seahorse were all great. I first met with Brian to set up the classroom portion... More

Our family arranged for a snorkeling trip though the Maya Beach Hotel, and ended up with Seahorse. My husband and I and our two kids, ages 10 and 9, had never snorkeled before. We ended up going out with another couple who were also beginners, and it was a great experience. Our guide, Max, was fantastic and VERY patient with... More

I emailed Seahorse Dive Shop a couple of days before arriving to Placencia to see if they were still doing trips to Glovers Reef and confirm costs. Never heard back but decided to go anyway. Arrived at 11.30am, phoned them and Brian Jr confirmed price and that a trip was going to Glovers the next day! Perfect! We'll walk down... More

Some of the other shops in Placencia have better looking boats and shops but Seahorse is a more cost-effective option. We found the service to be good and the dive instruction to be quite good. Read some of the other reviews and must say that my experience with the same set of people was totally different; these guys were cool,... More

These guys are great. They know what they're doing. They treated us well, and were a lot of fun. We did two "discover scuba" dives with them. None of us had ever done scuba. Our first dive was to Laughing Bird Caye. We had so much fun, we did another dive a few days later out at Silk Caye, which... More

Did 3 guided snorkeling adventures on 3 separate reefs- 2 from Silk Caye (beautiful little island about 25 miles from Placencia) and one about half a mile out to see nurse sharks, sting rays, and sea turtles (so many of each animal, all very friendly creatures and the instructors were guiding us safely to get a better look at each...
