We spent the day at DuPlooys and hired a guide, Kelly, to show us the garden. It's possible to tour the gardens without a guide but Kelly made the experience special. She spent several hours giving us an incredible tour of a lovely spot. We learned a lot about the native plants, Mayan medicines, and landscape design, and we throughly... More

Pretty flowers, fruit plants, coco beans, etc. You're able to taste some of the edible plants as you go, just an FYI the little red peppers are very very hot!!

I really enjoyed the 6:00 a.m. bird feeding (birds hung around until about 7:00). It gave me a chance to see several different birds which had been one of the focuses of my trip. I'm not a birder, but decided that I wanted to see more of these delightful creatures this time around. A helpful employee even pointed out a... More

The grounds were beautiful and well done. Not at all handicap accessible as the grounds are all natural. The road in is like most roads in Belize, gravel and full of potholes and trenches and barely 2 lanes wide, but well worth the trip.

Pretty grounds, but not spectacular. We may have been out of season in March. I would focus on the jungle experiences.

The Belize Botanic Gardens at DuPlooy's are fantastic. If you are at all interested in flora you owe it to yourself to spend at least part of a day here. You can do a self-guided tour using a nice booklet that the staff have put together but you would be short-changing yourself. Our guide, Kelly, was fantastic. There was nothing... More

We took the self guided tour of the gardens. The booklet provided gave good info as to the layout of the gardens as well as the botanical information. If you wish to glean in depth info,I suggest you take the guided tour. By this point in our journey, we were "info saturated", & were happy to simply stroll , breath... More
