Ahhh ... the beauty!

This is a place for all plant lovers to visit. The only thing is that you want to go back again and again - or maybe just live there!

A great paddle upstream from Chaa Creek, about 45 minutes. We had a guided tour of the botanical garden and then had a wonderful lunch at the bar patio. We watched a group of aricaris feeding right next to us. It also has a great walkway out over the Macal River above the jungle canopy.

It's a 30 minute drive west of San Ignacio to duPlooy's Botanical Gardens. We hired a taxi to drive us, wait 90 minutes, and drive us back for $40 US. If the weather has been rainy the road will be too muddy for a taxi, and you can have the gardens transport you. We did the self-guided tour and enjoyed... More

The Belize Botanic Gardens are beautiful and very well cared for. We did a tour that included a ride from San Ignacio and back, a guided tour and lunch. Our guide was Oscar, he was very knowledgeable and took his time. He had many stories about the plants and you will learn many medicinal tricks. They told us the tour... More

We spent a couple very relaxing hours here with a guided tour of the gardens. The gardener was very knowledgable and provided interesting details of each plant. The massages afterward were really nice too.

On a recent tour with a university group, Mr. Willy led us through the medicinal trail, Maya cooking demonstration, and interactive broom making at BBG on duPlooy's property. Everyone was highly engaged, took away stories of the jungle, and relished in making crafts to take back home. Thank you duPlooy's and BBG!!!

This is a good place to learn about plants in Belize and about the efforts to develop new agriculture. It was disappointing to see that only 1 orchid was in bloom in the orchid house. I was expecting a room full of flowers. But, the tour was really nice.

A wonderful place to visit. Feels like a walk through a well groomed park, with the exception being you are surrounded by very unusual plants. Incredible.

Willie thanks for the wonderful four-hour educational tour of the gardens. I never thought I could walk so much and still have the energy to keep going. All of my questions were answered thoroughly and you have a very wide knowledge of your garden. I would highly recommend the Botanical Garden to anyone who might be willing to take the... More
