So glad we chose Hanna stables. The horses were beautiful and we'll taken care of. The ranch and grounds were breathtaking Just what I imagined it could be. Lush and tropical The ferry ride was different and the ruins are massive. Loved hearing more about Mayan culture and the view from the top

We thoroughly enjoyed our horseback riding excursion with Santiago as our guide! The property was gorgeous, riding along the river most of the way. The horses were "real horses" and not "nose-to-tail trail horses". Great choice for people who have some experience with horseback riding, but also more mellow horses available for those without much experience. One of our favorite... More

This place is like a dream. I didn't stay overnight but my wife and I took a horseback ride with Santiago - the ranch's owner - up the mountain to Xunantunich, which was in itself incredible. He is a fascinating person and perhaps one of the most adept conversationalists I've ever met. When we returned from Xunantunich my wife and... More

We booked a horse back riding trip from the stables to Xunanatunich through our resort Black Rock Lodge and the best way to describe it is...what a deal! $50 bucks and we horseback rode in total probably 6-7 miles? Through a village, through the forest, over a river, up a hill, it was awesome. I would've liked a little more... More

We stayed at Black Rock Lodge and were fortunate enough to take a ride with Santiago on horseback to the Xunantunich Ruins. Santiago is very kind and knowledgable. His horses are obviously very well cared for. The ride was pleasant and beautiful through the jungle, town, across a ferry operated by a man and a hand crank. Upon arriving at... More

My husband and I were on our honeymoon and we couldn't have picked a better spot. Everyone was kind and accommodating. The country is beautiful and there is a sense of pride- people take care of their land and culture. Hanna Stables has a rich history, lush landscapes, and a view that feels you are in a dream. They take... More

This is a year late, but I really enjoyed the Hanna Stables horseback ride to Xunantunich I did last September. For one, it was way cheaper booking directly with them than going through a hotel or other activity provider. Our guide (I think she was English, but I cannot remember her name) was really great. It was my boyfriend's first... More

If you want a little taste of everything, the Xunantunich horseback ride will exceed your expectations. The horses are loved and cared for and well trained. This was my boys' first trail ride and I felt they were very safe in our guide David's care. Owner Santiago picked us up at our hotel and after finding out my children were... More

My husband and I loved our day of horseback riding to the Xunantunich ruins. Santiago picked us up from our hotel in San Ignacio and took us to the stables. The location and property are amazing and quite breathtaking. The horseback riding was great (and I was a bit nervous -- so if I can do it -- anyone can!).... More
