My husband and I loved our day of horseback riding to the Xunantunich ruins. Santiago picked us up from our hotel in San Ignacio and took us to the stables. The location and property are amazing and quite breathtaking. The horseback riding was great (and I was a bit nervous -- so if I can do it -- anyone can!).... More

We arrived at Hanna Stables (10 of us, mind you...), Santiago and his horses were ready and waiting for us. A quick but well executed matching of horse to rider, we set off toward Xuantanich, via a lovely and scenic path, not to mention the hand cranked ferry ride across the river. What an experience for the kids!! After a... More

Our guide, Terry, was a delight. The ride to and from the ruin was diverse and beautiful, and the horses seemed healthy and happy. The ruin is definitely breathtaking!

We rode out to Xunantunich, stopped for lunch at a great restaurant hidden back in a field somewhere and had a wonderful day! We had a very nice time riding with Terry. She got us situated and led us through wonderful scenery to Xunantunich where she left us to our own devices while we wandered the ruins. After that we... More

I took my 3 adult children to Belize to celebrate my daughter's 40th birthday. We stayed at the Stone Cabins and we were treated as special friends of the family not paying guests. We loved it. The other guests were wonderful and we had a great time with them and Santiago, Terry and Debra. Oh and the meals they cooked... More

Just arrived in our nice and clean little stone cottage, Ramon, a ranch hand, showed us enthusiastically a stick bird (owl) in the tree next to our accommodation. A perfect welcome! Not only because of the owl but of the friendly people who love the nature as we do. And we found a lot of them at San Lorenzo farm.... More

My 2nd ride with Santiago to Xunantunich Ruins - Brought my kids along this time and he suited them up with gentle horses and off thru the jungle we went! Both the kids and I both thoroughly enjoyed our day - they cant wait to go back to Belize and ride again!

A beautiful ride that takes one through farms, forest and along the stunning jade green Mopan river on the way to the Mayan ruin of Xunatunich. Cross river with horses aboard a small hand-powered ferry and then another mile uphill to the site. Santiago is a terrific guide, patient with one rider with no experience. Very interesting to converse with,... More

Definitely a highlight of our trip - we'll be back! Enjoyed the friendly hospitality with Santiago & Terry, the good food, cold beer, the peace & quiet, swimming in the river. I love seeing new country on horseback; even if I have to ride someone else's (at least they were shod and well cared for, and get lots of time... More
