We chose to make our first Belize experience a series of inland adventures exploring both the natural and architectural attractions of this beautiful country....and I couldn't be more happy that we did. Cayo Adventure Tours (CAT), operated out of San Ignacio provided us reliable transportation (4x4 where required) and educated local guides who added great insight to some truly unforgettable... I used CAT twice, for tours to Caracol and Barton Creek Cave. Both very easy to arrange, as a solo travaller I had told my guide Mario, about my desire to do Barton Creek on the second day, whilst at Caracol, and explained my difficulty finding a tour group to join. To my delight he remembered this and when he... More

We used CAT for our tour of the ATM caves and had a wonderful time! If you can possibly do it, go to these caves! They are somewhat challenging but if you're in decent shape you can make it okay. I'm 63 years old and had no real problems. One thing to be aware of is you need to be... More

We used CAT for two trips: The adventure Crystal Cave trip and a day trip to Tikal Guatemala. Both were amazing! The drivers picked us up right on time both mornings. The guides speak excellent English and were super friendly. Tikal: We stopped for breakfast/bathroom in Guatemala. The van was comfy. Tikal was pretty empty so we had the place... More

We used CAT twice as the excursion operator booked through our hotel (ATM and cave tubing) and I just can't recommend them. Our ATM tour guide was very experienced and got our small group (only four) of us to the cave early which was nice as the cave got very crowded as the morning progressed. However, throughout much of the... More

My friend and I wanted some adventure in our lives so we booked two days of tours through Cayo. The cave tubing was so relaxing - our guide had just the right combination of tour-giving and just letting us drift in a enjoyable, leisurely silence. The zip lining afterward was a series of rather small ziplines, but it was nice... More

We used Cayo Adventure Tours, a locally-owned and operated tour service in San Ignacio, for three excursions: Che Chem Ha Cave/ Xunantunich, Caracol and Tikal, and we could not have been more pleased. Our guides were all generally in the 20-30-year-old range, well-experienced, well-educated in their subjects and very personable. Michael and Maria Simmons run a first-class operation, and I... My husband and I were recently in San Ignacio and looking to find a way other than bus to Hopkins. We asked around many places that quoted us from $40-$80 more than Cayo Adventures quoted us. So we paid the fee. The pick up arrived on time and to our surprise it was Daniel the sales person. He explained all... More

We were referred to Cay Adventures by our hotel out in San Pedro to take us on a trip to Xunantunich (pronounced Shunantunich) and then to cave tubing. It was a great recommendation. George picked us up at hour hotel in Belize City promptly at 8:00 in a nice clean mini van. Though the drive to Xunantunich was a couple... More

The drivers are not always the tour guides. We had Ranan as our private guide for the ATM cave tour, which surpassed our expectations. Ranan/"the Godfather" is a veteran tour guide and pretty much made us feel like we were in a live documentary. Also, we took a trip to Tikal and had Emil as our driver and chaperone. We... More
