We used Cayo Adventure Tours, a locally-owned and operated tour service in San Ignacio, for three excursions: Che Chem Ha Cave/ Xunantunich, Caracol and Tikal, and we could not have been more pleased. Our guides were all generally in the 20-30-year-old range, well-experienced, well-educated in their subjects and very personable. Michael and Maria Simmons run a first-class operation, and I... My husband and I were recently in San Ignacio and looking to find a way other than bus to Hopkins. We asked around many places that quoted us from $40-$80 more than Cayo Adventures quoted us. So we paid the fee. The pick up arrived on time and to our surprise it was Daniel the sales person. He explained all... More

We were referred to Cay Adventures by our hotel out in San Pedro to take us on a trip to Xunantunich (pronounced Shunantunich) and then to cave tubing. It was a great recommendation. George picked us up at hour hotel in Belize City promptly at 8:00 in a nice clean mini van. Though the drive to Xunantunich was a couple... More

The drivers are not always the tour guides. We had Ranan as our private guide for the ATM cave tour, which surpassed our expectations. Ranan/"the Godfather" is a veteran tour guide and pretty much made us feel like we were in a live documentary. Also, we took a trip to Tikal and had Emil as our driver and chaperone. We... More

When booking xunantunich and cave tubing at caves branch, we were told we would be doing both xunantunich and cahal pech and then cave tubing in the afternoon. We were disappointed that only xunantunich was done without cahal pech. Guide informed us that the boss had said that it would be a long day if cahal pech was also done.... More

Victor safely took us to Caracol (worst road ever) and showed us around this amazing site. He was very adept at avoiding the crowd. In addition to the ancient site, he was knowledgeable about flora and fauna, esp. birds. Emil guided us through the amazing adventure that is ATM! We safely swam into the cave and scrambled over the rocks... More

To be one of the best tour in Belize it was a huge disappointment to many students who went on a Chetumal Trip the other day start with the driver of the bus seems to be drunk, he had no clue of where he was taking the trip. when we reach the Mexican Board the driver had no idea how... More

We took two tours with CAT - ATM and Tikal. Our guide for ATM (Ranan?) is one of the longest operating in the caves (20+ years) and was absolutely outstanding! He had numerous stories to tell, and a great sense of humor. We got off to a bit of a slow start due to one of the tourists languishing over... More

We were staying at DuPlooy's Jungle Lodge and they booked a trip with this group to the Barton's cave canoe trip and the butterfly garden. They were paid by duPlooy's for a private tour, but they picked up another couple and tried to get us to do the tour that the other group wanted. Since we mostly wanted to see... More

We did two day trips with Cayo Adventures. The one to Caracol was great. The guide was great and we had a wonderful day. The second day Cayo Adventures' manager changed combined our private tour with another couple. Both of us wanted to do Barton Creek, however the other couple wanted to go to a waterfall and we had booked... More
