What a marvellous place and a delightful place to be. Kayak, swim or simply sunbathe. The bar is well stocked and food is good. Very clean and a great place to be with friends. Can't wait to return.

We came here as part of a Barrier Reef snorkeling excursion. There was plenty of food to buy, if all you wanted hamburgers or hotdogs. The bar was well stocked. My only objection was the soft sand leading to the one accessible restroom on the island. That and having only one hour here!

Just saw this island on HGTV on the show Island Life where people are showcased who are looking to buy and island in the Caribbean etc. Bannister island was recently purchased by a Canadian named Bill from Toronto. who lives in BeliZe with his wife who is a local. From the photos on this review nothing has changed. It still... More

We got there by joining a snorkeling and beach tour. Get there by 30 mins ride of speed boat. Can be pretty bumpy but the beach is well worth the ride. No other transportation except by chatter boat. Beach is so pretty and water is really clear. Try to get there between the cruise tour, otherwise can be really crowded.... More

I generally find the positive in most excursions- after all it is the Caribbean, warmth combined with turquoise waters when its winter at my home in the US. I would say Bannister Island gets an average rating if I really take a look at it. It was perhaps the most "shelly" of sands and everything seems a bit contrived. The... More

I was there with my mate and another 100 people who, on arrival, ran to grab the nearest chair available. We wanted to leave after 10 minutes but we were trapped. If carnival ever offered us the trip free, I would not go there even if they paid me to go! Bannister island is not an island. It is a... More

We also booked this particular trip as part of a cruise package. Had a great 6 hours on the beach. Lovely warm carabean sea, spotless white sands, great snoreklling off the pier. Lovely food and drink as well. Straight from the harbour to the island. Perfect

The best part of this excursion from Royal Caribbean Liberty of the sea was being tendered right from the ship. The island itself was very small. We were lucky that we were the only ship in Belize that day so getting chairs were no problem. My kids age 16 and twin 13 year olds enjoyed the kayaks. Very very shelly... More

During cruise on Carnival Liberty bought excursion on "The private island with a beach and a lunch" lasting 4 hours for 55 USD for the adult. Reached on the island on the boat about 20 minutes. The boat took away us directly from the ship standing on the tender in the sea and carried to other party from port. All... More

it was a tiny island which isn't a big deal but the sand was so coarse and sharp from shells made me keep my shoes on the whole time...at least they are nice enough to post a sign to warn you of this. The water was fine until we figured out that the restrooms empty into the water behind us... More
