After being to several other ruins, including Tikal, I didn't think I would get much out of this tour but I was mistaken.we took this tour from San pedro via water taxi to Belize city then an guide drove us to the river for the 1hr plus river boat ride to the site. The site had three main ruins which... More

Having already visited the Xunantunich Mayan site, I was unsure if this would add anything to my Mayan experience. I could not have been more wrong. Again, we were lucky with our guide. Cedro (the ceder tree?) was very well-versed in Mayan history and was able to provide all the necessary detail to make our visit memorable and informative. During... More

Boat ride was awesome, the Reyes brothers who took us on the boat tour were great and were very informative! We saw crocs and bats and tones of birds!! The ruins were awesome! Lots of waking and even in the rain it was worth the trip. You can climb the ruins as well. Trails are great!

Our ship-organised shore excursion was to the Lamanai Mayan ruins via a boat ride on the New River. This was a 7-hour round trip, starting with an hour-long bus ride to the place where we got onto the boat for the hour-long ride along the river to the ruins (the return journey was the same). It was a hot day... More

We booked this excursion while aboard a cruise ship. Total cost over $200+ for this 7 hour excursion. The air conditioned bus picked us up and we traveled 75 minutes one way through a the very poor inland area of Belize. Not anywhere close to the beautiful beaches or water. Fortunately there was a restroom on the bus, for #1... More

The whole experience at Lamanai is awesome. Lamanai is located down a river so one of the only ways to get there is on a boat. The boat ride was fantastic and almost better than the ruins themselves. They take you on a small boat with about 15 other people. The awesome thing is that they stop along the way... More

We visited this Manyan site as part of our trip through the region. We first took a great tour on the river and saw the beautiful wildlife including a lot of different species of birds. A great way to travel to the site. On the site we had a great tour and tried to get the spiders out to see.... More

The trip up the river to Lamanai and the beautiful green setting are as good as the ruins. Take your time to wander around, climb the temples, gawk at the howler monkeys and admire the black orchids. But just be sure you get here as early as possible to avoid the hordes of cruise ship passengers - or come on... More

The site at Lamanai has been designed to explore a few temples connected with nice gravel pathways, good signage identifying some of the native plants, yet leaving some of the integrity of the site intact. You get to see the unearthed front of the temples, but the back remains covered by jungle as it would have looked to those first... More

Lamanai mayan ruins are very beautiful and well kept.. The environment is clean and has a natural balance with the ecological species that inhabit the area. Great for pictures with unforgettable memories! Belize is a diamond.. 👌🌳🌴
