Lamanai offers some extraordinary examples of Mayan temples with more to come in time as other excavations are completed on the 900 acre site. What helped make our trip a true adventure was the plane trip to the tiny air strip and then a 25 mile boat ride on a winding river with some excellent wildlife viewing on the way... More

Normally we do not buy ship shore excursions. But this day it was a BIG birthday and I did not want it to be a big flop. So we bought the excursion from the cruise ship. We started with a 1 hour bus trip to Orange Walk. Here we "got ready" with insect repellent remedies: long sleeves, long pants (both... More

We bought this excursion from our ship after being unsuccessful in communicating with different companies through their website since no one replied to us before we boarded the ship. I do not know what company the Lion brothers work for, but if you can hire their services directly rather than via the ship you can probably save some money. Finding... More

We enjoyed the tour immensely. We selected it as a shore excursion. We were fortunate to have the awesome Lion brothers as our guides. They were knowledgeable and extremely accommodating. They picked us up from the pier in an air-conditioned bus. The ride was informative since they are such great guides. The trip was about an hour. We then boarded... More

We visited Belize on a cruise and took the option to take the boat trip to visit the temple of the jaguars. Our tour guide took by coach to the river boat docks for what he described as an exciting boat trip up the river to visit the Mayan ruins and take a walk through the Jungle hopefully the see... We took the river cruise and Lamanai tour with A Plus Adventures (which I did a review of their services already) and it was amazing. We were very sunburned and got in the boat last so the river cruise, although fun, was pretty unbearable with the sun beating down on us. Just something to keep in mind. The whole boat... More

Took a tour to Lamanai, and Mr. Lascelle Tillett of S&L Travel & Tours did a wonderful job. His experience and knowledge of the place is refreshing. Enjoyed the boat tour and even saw some crocs and monkeys.

The boat ride was at least as much fun as the Lamanai site visit. The river guide stopped whenever something interesting was seen. We saw Toucans as well as a large variety of interesting water birds. The high speed, sometimes narrow and twisty river made for a fun ride. Lamanai is the destination for numerous cruise ships. We were fortunate... More

Our guides found us as we exited the port, we waited a bit for everyone to arrive... then the adventure began. An hour drive by air conditioned bus let's you see a great deal about the city and country of Belize. Our guide was informative and engaging. We arrived at the boat ramp for lunch, a very tasty homemade meal... More
