This site is breathtaking and the ride through the jungle by water was awesome as well. They allow you to climb to the top of all the pyramids which provide a beautiful birds eye view. I would definitely take the tour again along with the river safari. Hold on to your hats and take a ride trough the rivers and... More

I have been on many excursions and I truly enjoyed this one the most of any we have taken. The bus ride to the site where we got on the boat was very interesting, with lots of facts about Belize and history of the area. The boat ride to the site was billed as a river safari and we saw... More

So many tours on cruise ships are contrived experiences. This was nothing like that. We took about an hour long bus ride through the country side (my wife saw a tapir on the way) to get to the river cruise. It was interesting just to see how people lived. The cruise was about 25 miles to the ruins. We enjoyed... More

This is a long, but interesting tour that our family took through our cruise ship with our kids (age 4 & 6). I prepared them in advance with pictures of what we would see so it would have more meaning. Along the hour bus ride, the tour guide explained many things about Belize. Then, there is a 45 minute river... More

We went with Carlos Reyes and sons. They were nice people but the actual guide was unenthusiastic. Lamanai itself is ok. The ruins are cool but for me the best part were the jungle surroundings. The river tour was fairly boring. Maybe it was bad timing but all we saw were some birds. Only worth a day trip.

Our group was getting antsy on our cruise and were looking forward to some time on land. I had done a lot of research on the different Mayan ruins in Belize, and determined that visiting Lamanai would give us the most unique experience. Our tour was booked through our cruise line, but it looks like there are plenty of tours... More

I have not been to any other actual ruins but found Lamanai a great trip. The boat ride to the site was enjoyable and great birding. The museum at the site was not large and not many artifacts but informed about the site and the culture well. The ruins that have been unearthed were in good condition and you were... More

We visited Lamanai while on a cruise with a tour booked through Island Marketing. It started out delayed because Port Officials delayed our departure from the ship for a little over an hour. We were kind of rushed from the City to the boat landing for lunch and then the hour boat ride to Lamanai. A high speed ride up... More

My family and I made a stop in Belize while on a cruise. We had a hard time choosing what to do in short time there, but in the end all of us were really glad we chose Lamanai. We had to drive about an hour from the port to the river where the tour started. The entire staff was... More

We spent the day touring Lamanai. We were staying on Caya Caulker and had to take the ferry taxi to Belize City which is about 45 minutes. From there we had a driver Jason take us to the the Lamanai boat landing site. The trip down the river is quite nice and we were able to see alot of the... More
