Our host, and Lamanai Eco Tours owner, Errol Cadle, was waiting for us when we arrived in our rented car from Belize City. He introduced us to our guide, Colin, and we boarded the speed boat, joining six other adventure seekers. Right from the beginning we knew we were in good hands. Colin took us on a gentle tour of... We had a wonderful experience with Island Marketing for this excursion. The roads were torn up a bit which made the bus ride a bumpy one but the experience was well worth it although we felt a bit rushed - we only had 6 hours in Belize and we needed the full 6 hours. 1.15 bus ride each way, 45... Great day had by all. The bus ride to the river site is about 1 hour. Boat ride to the ruins is about the same. Wonderful boat ride through the river (bring sunscreen as most of the boats only have a small shade covering). The knowledge of our guides was exceptional. To be able to climb the ruins was a... Although not easy to get to or on the main drag, this is an experience definitely worth the time and effort. A wild boat ride up the New River, then a tour of the Lamanai archaeological site. To climb one of the temples and look out over the forest is an experience like few others.

We booked this tour through Island Marketing and had a wonderful experience. Though it was long--van, river and land--it was well worth the time. Our guide brought bananas to feed the howler monkey and three crocodiles were sunning themselves on the tree limbs. Though not the highest ruins in Belize, it was worth the climb to the top, In addition,... More

Our family of 4 booked this excursion through NCL. The tour took about 7.5 hours, including travel time. We tendered in Belize, took a bus ride through the city and countryside, then stopped at Lamanai Landing to board the boat to the ruins. Transfers were easy, guides were wonderful. Our guides were named Lynette and Hilberto. Weather was warm and... More

Our party of 6 enjoyed this full-day (6-hr) tour in Belize. We booked our tour directly through Island Marketing at a very reasonable price. The tour included a 1 hr bus ride each way to the New River, lunch, and a one-hour boat ride to the Lamanai Ruins. There was also more than one hour spent waiting for the tour... More

We went with Lamanai Eco Tours. The guide had Maya roots, spoke both Spanish and English, and was was very knowledgeable about local flora and fauna. Apparently they know the places where the birds hide, because we saw a lot of birds on the trip to Lamanai. Lamanai site is worth visiting although not as impressive as Tikal or Yaxhá.

I just want to share this picture I took at Lamanai that is shaped like a foot. I think it is fascinating. Do you?

We took the Lamanai and New River tour in January. We were on Princess and had to be tendered into the city. The bus ride took another hour and you got to see a side of Belize that was not very attractive, including a teenager on the side of the road giving us the finger. The tour guide thought he... More
