We took this tour back in 2004 and liked it so much we came back. On the one hour bus trip to the river through the countryside, we were entertained by our guide Easy's (probably not his real name) informative talk about Belize. Somehow this lively talk came across as very personal although I'm sure he had given it many... More

we went up the Belize River to the Lamanai Mayon Ruins, wear some good shoes because if you want to climb the ruins there very steep, don't supose them little mayon's made these pyramids to climb, but there is a very tall Pyramid there that is tall enough to look out over the top of the trees, pretty good work... Our hotel booked us with Lamanai Eco Tour. We were relieved that only 5 of us were boarding our boat vs the 20+ piled into others. Worth paying extra for a smaller group. Our guide Collin made the trip educational and informative, pointing out birds, bats, crocodiles and spider monkeys - one jumped in for a banana - Our 10... More

We visited the ruins with friends. Lovely boat ride on the New River where we spotted "holer" monkeys, several species of birds and even a crocodile. The Mayan ruins at Lamanai (Mayan for submereged crocodile) are lovely with three temples -- High, Mask and Jaguar. Tour guide was exceptional with an extensive knowledge of the area!! More

The Ruins are a work in progress, there are over 100 buildings in the complex, but about 5 or 6 have been excavated. The tallest one at Lamanai is 33 meters (100 feet), and you can still climb it. What a view from the top! There are 2 others that can be climbed but depending on your group you may... More

We used Ecological Tours for this excursion. Our guide was outstanding. During the river trip we stopped near a tree with spider monkees and fed them bananas. One actually swung down out of the tree and in to our small boat to grab a banana and check us out. Our kids won't ever forget the experience. The ruins were very... More

Please read my other review of the river trip and the Lamanai ruins.....the river trip is worth it all by itself.....birds, wildlife, fish and just the exhiliration of wondering what is around the next corner, when you are boating at 40 mph....woo hoo More

We sailed on the Crown Princess and booked the tour for 8 people through Experience Belize Tours. Leah Dawson was great before the tour providing information on what to bring (sunscreen, insect repellant, snacks) and what to wear (long pants and hiking shoes). We appreciated the advice later as we saw cruise ship tour people swatting at insects. This is... More

A comfortable van took me and others to Orange Walk where we disembarked to have coffee before starting our river trip to Lamanai. The driver/skipper (Vel) seemed to have eagle eyes since he could see birds, iguanas, crocodiles, etc far before they became apparent to us. The trip along the river was really interesting and I think better than the... More

Let me start by saying we have used ShoreTrips on the last 2 of our cruises and we are so glad we have used you. We have been on 4 cruises and will never use ship excursions again! We were on Carnival Dream 2/21/2012 and my best friend (Melissa) and her fiancé (Rick) went with us. All of us decided... More
