We fortunately stayed at Huracan Dive resort (see review on resort) which is one of the closest to the Blue Hole, so for us it was only a 15 min boat ride to the Blue Hole. So when we were coming up from our Blue Hole Dive, the other boats that where bringing divers in from places a 2 hour... More

We were on a cruise ship and wanted to see the blue hole while we were in belize but it was too far to boat too and a helicopter ride was going to cost us 1800 dollars. So we chartered our own flight from the airport which costed us $400 total. Great views from above.

It was a long ride (over two hours by boat) to get to the Great Blue Hole, but it was beautiful and worth the trip. We went to two other destinations in the area. It was a great day on/in the water.

We went to San Pedro- October 2013 for ~1 week and then over to caye caulker for 1 week+. and while staying in Caye Caulker we did the Aqua Scuba Great Blue Hole dive, Half Moon Caye, and the Aquarium. It was Amazing. The Staff was great and I would do it again! We had just gotten out PADI open... More

If you are a diver then I do recommend diving at Half Moon Caye where the Blue Hole is located. I actually think the diving outside the Blue Hole is better than the dive inside.

We dived the Blue Hole about 20 years ago. We were not that excited about the "hole" then but we had a fantastic 45 minute safety stop on the edge of the reef in beautiful patch coral. This time it wasn't the same. We went back because we were staying at Turneffe Flats and the other divers wanted to go.... More

If you are looking for beautiful coral, don't expect to find it here. What you will find are sharks! We did our dive going down to 130 feet (oops, a little past my certification). In my defense, I was just following the leader. It is just a big hole in the earth. What was cool was when coming up for... More

So yes you get up early (on the pier at 5:15). Yes, it's a killer boat ride there and back (two and a half hours) in some rough seas. It's also the coolest dive you will do in Belize if not the planet (for a rec diver that is). We went with the guys from Ramon's (Ask Rick about renting... More

We dove the Blue Hole and it was nice, but the visibility wasn't great. We went to 40m, saw a couple of Caribbean reef sharks and swum under some stalactites, but there isn't much else. The two dives we did after the Blue Hole where more beautiful. We left from Caye Caulker and it was a 2h boat trip. If... More

The dive in the Blue Hole is very quick (10 to 15 min), it is dark, and there is little marine life. You may spot a blacktip reef shark far away and you will see some stone stalactites formation in the dark. The second and third dives after the Blue Hole are excellent. The half moon cay wall in your... More
