This trip was absolutely fantastic. We spent three glorious days with knowledgeable and fun guides exploring the atoll and all its natural beauty. We ate like kings thanks to the fantastic chefs. We definitely plan to do another excursion with Island Expeditions!

One of my favourite places to dive is on Cozumel island, which is part of the Belize Barrier reef. So, when planning this past winter's 2-month dive trip to Belize and Honduras, I was expecting the diving to be as good as in Cozumel. Not so. Diving the Belizean reef off the islands of Ambergris Caye, Caye Caulker, Roatan, and... More

We booked for an 8 day trip at Light House Reef (LHR) in February 2014 with Island Expeditions. The pre- trip advice and help from the staff was very good. The trip was an active one that included kayaking, paddle boarding and snorkelling. The staff on the reef were very helpful and made every effort to make sure that everyone... More

Every imaginable sea creature inhabits this reef--giant sea turtles, barracuda, nurse sharks, schools of giant blue tangs and angel fish...and giant brain and fan corals. There is nothing to dislike here

We visited Lighthouse Reef / Half Moon Caye in December, 2013 as part of a 8-day trip with REI Adventures (Island Expeditions). I cannot think of a way the trip could be improved. The location with its white sand and turquoise water is exquisite, and it was entire free from bugs and biting sand fleas. The only crawling critters were... More

I've been reading over some earlier reviews and have to totally agree with what they are saying. Island Expeditions offers a number of different packages. We did Lighthouse Reef. So here are a few other points. NO SAND FLIES or other bitters on this island. This means you didn't need any insect repellent. In Belize city you do need it. The... More

We travelled February 23-25th, 2013 on a kayak/snorkelling adventure. Island Expeditions fed us, planned the day's events and did an excellent job of keeping 15 people happy. The Audubon Society has set up a red-footed booby lookout which is magical. The island is small but you can be on a windy beach, a calm Caribbean snorkel spot, or in a... More

Island Expeditions offers several trips within and around Belize. We chose the Lighthouse Reef 8 night snorkeling and kayaking trip to Halfmoon Caye. It is a remote island of just over 40 acres about 60 miles off the coast of the Belize mainland. This is not a luxury resort trip; it is an adventure. We stayed in tents on wooden... More

This reef system, the most remote in Belize, is located about 2-3 hours by boat from the mainland (Belize City or San Pedro/Ambergis Caye, etc). It is long and thin, running roughly north-east/south-west. There are three small "islands" (cayes) in the reef system - Long Caye in the southwest, Half Moon Caye in the southeast, and Northern Caye to the... More
