Nice park and zoo :)

I drive from Columbus GA to go to the zoo. It dosnt have a all of the Animals that Atlanta and Montgomery zoos have but it does have plenty. They have a train that runs on weekends and a Wagon pulled Safari ride to see zebras and other animals. I like that it is secluded woods trails and not over... More

Not worth the money. Not that many animals at park. Train around zoo only runs on weekends. Place sounded great online but not in person.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your visit. While a visit during the week is nice, I definitely recommend visiting on the weekend to experience everything that we have to offer. A weekend visit allows you to see all of our 250+ animals, take a free tour on the African Veldt Ride, visit our concession stand, take a ride on our... More

So glad we stopped at Chehaw Park on our way to Florida with our two girls (3 and 1). On weekends they offer many feedings, and we fed a rhino (free), camel (free) and alligators! Also got to pet several small animals (lizards, ferret, snakes) and feed barnyard animals. VERY engaging for little kids. Didn't do the playground outside the... More

Thank you for stopping by and for taking the time to leave a review! We are in the process of redoing all of the signage throughout the Park and Zoo, as well as updating our printed materials. Hopefully this will help improve visitor experience. Thank you for having patience with our Junior Zookeepers! Many of them come into the program... More

When I was a kid I loved going to Chehaw Park. I took my little sister and god baby and I was very disappointed. No elephants, zebras, lions, tigers, giraffes, and only one bear. It wasn't a zoo anymore it was more of a farm.

I'm sorry you felt disappointed in your visit. To correct your statement, we DO have zebras and four black bears. It sounds like you did not ride our African Veldt during your visit. This ride takes you on a trailer ride into a 40 acre exhibit where 6 species of animals, including a zebra herd, roam freely. In the Zoo,... More

Don't know if you can swing it but Chehaw provided us with a behind the scenes visit that tok us to the feeding cabin and to a ride through the open savanna - in fact, we were close to the animals that we could smell the zebras! Amazing! Hannah took our group through a wonderful environmental walk in the morning... More

When your family comes to visit Chehaw Park, the whole family no matter their age, will find lots to enjoy; There are great camp grounds if you want to camp, a boat landing if you want to enjoy the creek, a wonderful play park that is so much fun it will be hard to tear the kids away at the... Went just to get the kids (Ages 4-7) out of the house. Had a blast. Spent time in the zoo and then played in the park. Took a picnic lunch because the park is also nice. As for the zoo, well you get to feed animals that most zoo's charge a fortune for. Plus this zoo has lots on hands... More

I used to work at this zoo, and for such a small town, the zoo is actually really nice. Lots of shaded walkways/bridges through natural settings. The zoo is actually at the back of the park and there is a separate fee for both. The large playground at the park is one of the nicest I have seen, and we... More

Really cool zoo. It is a different experience outside of walking around on hot asphalt trails. This zoo takes you right through the woods on the walking paths and over water on bridges. The staff was awesome and let my kids help feed the Rhino. I have been to tons of zoo's all over America and I'll say this one... More
